At around 7:35 a.m. the same day, a fire broke out in a frozen food warehouse on Phan Van Dang Street (Ward 8, Vinh Long City, Vinh Long Province). Many people used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but were unsuccessful. The fire flared up fiercely, with a column of smoke hundreds of meters high.

Upon receiving the news, Vinh Long Provincial Police dispatched many fire trucks, along with more than 40 officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire. The warehouse had two floors and contained many flammable items, making firefighting difficult.
