On August 7, Binh Chanh District Police (HCMC) are investigating a fire at a plastic facility in the area.

Earlier, at 5 p.m. the same day, people discovered a fire on Bo Doi An Dien Street (Vinh Loc A Commune, Binh Chanh District), where plastic factories are located next to each other. The fire broke out with black smoke rising high.
Upon receiving the news, Binh Chanh District Police dispatched many vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene. At this time, the electricity department also cut off the power to ensure safety. As soon as they arrived, the authorities had to use high-capacity pumps to directly draw water from nearby ponds to put out the fire.
At nearly 8:00 p.m. the same day, authorities extinguished the fire.
The fire caused many properties inside the facility to burn. However, the fire department continued to spray water into the burned area to cool it down and prevent the fire from re-igniting.
Previously, on May 18, a fire also broke out in the above warehouse area, causing the BT facility to burn down an area of 185/ 200m2 , and the HDT Company Limited to burn down an area of about 100/ 800m2 . The fire damaged 1 plastic granulator, 1 machine and 5 tons of scrap plastic. In addition, the fire also caused the warehouse's iron frame to collapse.
Locals said that the land with the warehouse was rented by the owner to many plastic manufacturing facilities. Since May 18, the facilities in this warehouse have temporarily stopped operating and then another fire broke out.
