Currently, Decision No. 3737/QD-BVHTTDL dated August 9, 2024 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on including Eel Porridge of Nghe An province in the list of national intangible cultural heritage and folk knowledge is circulating on social networks. However, this is a fake document.

In response to the above false information, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has sent a document to the Central Propaganda Department; the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Information and Communications requesting the handling of distorted and untrue information.

The content of the official dispatch of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism clearly stated that, implementing the Law on Cultural Heritage, regulations on inventorying intangible cultural heritage and establishing scientific dossiers of intangible cultural heritage to include in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, at the request of the Chairman of the People's Committee of the provinces/cities directly under the Central Government, the resolution of the Heritage Scientific Dossier Appraisal Council, on August 9, 2024, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decisions to announce the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage for 15 heritage dossiers.

Including: Folk knowledge of Pho Nam Dinh, Nam Dinh province (Decision No. 2326/QD-BVHTTDL), Folk knowledge of My Quang, Quang Nam province (Decision No. 2327/QD-BVHTTDL), Folk knowledge of Pho Hanoi, Hanoi city (Decision No. 2328/QD-BVHTTDL).

The above Decisions have been positively responded to by the People's Committees of provinces/cities and the communities representing the heritage, as a measure to encourage the community to continue to preserve, maintain, practice and promote the quintessence of the profession.

However, on August 14, 2024, social networks reported that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 3737/QD-BVHTTDL dated August 9, 2024 on the announcement of the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage, accordingly, Eel porridge, Nghe province was included in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

"This is distorted and untrue information, negatively affecting the reputation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Minister Nguyen Van Hung personally. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism respectfully requests the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Information and Communications to verify the subject who forged documents of state management agencies and posted false information on social networks, and handle them according to current law provisions," the official dispatch of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested.
