Plan accommodation and travel
These days, Nguyen Thi Ha Linh, residing in Dong Da district, Hanoi, is diligently planning her travel as a new student majoring in Auditing at the Academy of Finance.
Ha Linh said that she was admitted through the early admission method (admission of excellent high school students - method 302). Because this is my favorite major; the Academy of Finance is also my favorite school, so when registering my wishes, I ranked Auditing - Academy of Finance as my first wish. After completing the procedures, I was sure to become a new student of the Academy of Finance.

“The distance from my house to school is quite far and the bus is not convenient, so I decided to mainly travel by motorbike. In the past two days, I have looked up the nearest route; at the same time, I have practiced going to school twice to survey the route. In addition, I have also completed the procedure to get a monthly bus ticket so that on rainy days, I can switch to taking the bus and then catch a Grab,” Ha Linh shared.
Like Ha Linh, Nguyen Phuong Trang, residing in Gia Lai province, was admitted early to the Faculty of International Business - National Economics University.
“I have been following the National Economics University for a long time and took the IELTS exam in February 2023. With IELTS 7.0 and good academic results, I was admitted to the Faculty of International Business, so I just had to wait until I registered for admission and registered my first choice at the school to officially become a student of the school.
Trang’s biggest obstacle is the distance from her home to Hanoi, which is more than 1,000 kilometers. However, when she decided to study at university in Hanoi, her family had a clear plan.
“I stayed at my relatives’ house for the first year to get used to the roads in Hanoi. It was about 9km from there to school. Since I didn’t know the way, I took a Grab to school. From the second year onwards, depending on the situation, I could continue to stay at my relatives’ house or rent a house outside,” Phuong Trang said.
Also admitted to the Foreign Trade University through the early admission method, Nguyen Manh Dung is learning about the dormitory procedures. After being sure that he was admitted to the Foreign Trade University, he carefully researched the dormitory conditions and asked about the procedures to proactively carry them out. Coming from Bac Giang, he and his family went to the school to basically survey some services around here so as not to be surprised when enrolling.
Trinh Mai Anh, who passed the early admission exam to Hanoi Law University, said that for the past few days she has asked her siblings to help her find a room to rent around the school area so she can walk to school, but she has not been able to find one because the price is too high.
Build a financial plan and study plan
Master Ngo Tri Dung - Director of the Admissions Center of Hong Bang International University said that in recent days, many candidates and parents have called the school to ask about admission procedures, especially information on receiving scholarships for the first year and maintaining scholarships for the following years. That proves that they have grasped the opportunity to enter the school, so they want to shorten the time in the admission process as well as prepare finances and accommodation in the coming time.

Being admitted to university at a time when prices are skyrocketing, with tuition fees at all schools tending to increase, many students, especially those from the countryside whose parents are manual workers, have to carefully calculate the cost of living and tuition.
For Nguyen Manh Dung, tuition fees and the problem of paying for them are things he is concerned about. As the eldest child in a family of three siblings, his financial situation is not very good; while in college, although he will live in a dormitory, he still has to worry about living expenses, food, and coping with rising tuition fees, so he is very worried.
“I am interested in the study encouragement scholarship fund and the FTU – Mabuchi scholarship loan fund with 0% interest rate, loan period of many years. In the immediate future, I am determined to study well, win a high scholarship to reduce the financial burden on my parents,” Dung planned.
Not paying much attention to tuition fees, Nguyen Thu Ha, residing in Chuong My district, Hanoi, was admitted early to the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture and spent time researching reputable centers to learn Japanese.
Thu Ha said: "I know a woman who studied at the Agricultural Academy and is now very successful. She received a scholarship to study abroad in Japan. I also want to be like her, so I proactively learn Japanese to make it easier for me to study and research in the future. In addition, I will study to improve my English level."
There are also many students who want to work part-time to earn extra income and learn life skills right after entering university. “When I was sure of being accepted to the University of Commerce, I went to the school to see if there was any coffee shop hiring students. Since I was a child, I only knew how to go to school and come home, I have never had any contact with the outside world, so my parents supported me to work on the condition that I only work 3 hours/day and it does not affect my studies,” said Nguyen Tuan Long, a resident of Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi.
It is considered essential for new students to proactively plan their plans to start a new phase of life. In the next few days, along with the announcement of the first round of admission scores, universities will provide detailed instructions on admission procedures; at the same time, they will set up hotlines, ready to support students.
Information related to tuition fees, scholarships, loan policies, student support policies, dormitories, etc. has basically been made public in the Admissions Plan of each school, so candidates can learn and prepare in advance to proactively implement as soon as they know the official admission results.
