Accordingly, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and Southwest Pipeline Operating Company donated 1 billion VND to build 20 Great Solidarity Houses in Can Tho City; donated 5 billion VND to build 100 Great Solidarity Houses in An Minh, An Bien, Chau Thanh, and Giong Rieng districts (Kien Giang province). At the same time, donated 150 million VND to support Can Tho City Youth Union to plant trees along the Lot B O Mon gas pipeline.

On this occasion, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and Southwest Pipeline Operating Company also presented gifts to express gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and policy families in Can Tho City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Binh Minh - Member of the Board of Members of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group said that the Lot B - O Mon gas-power project chain is a system connecting from upstream to downstream, including the Lot B field development project, the Lot B - O Mon pipeline project and 4 gas-power plants O Mon I, II, III, IV. This is a project chain with a large investment scale, with the upstream stage alone investing nearly 12 billion USD and the expected gas exploitation output reaching 5.06 billion ^m3 /year.

This chain of projects not only provides energy for the country but also creates thousands of jobs, shifts the economic structure and affirms Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands. For the Block B - O Mon Gas Pipeline Project with an onshore pipeline (102 km) passing through 3 localities: Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Can Tho, SWPOC Operator is implementing synchronously with the chain progress (upstream and downstream power plants).

To recognize the contribution of the project investor to social security work in the locality, the leaders of Can Tho City and Kien Giang Province awarded Certificates of Merit to recognize the contributions of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and the Southwest Pipeline Operating Company to social security work and support for local people.

Mr. Le Thanh Viet - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province said that the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and the Southwest Pipeline Operating Company to social security work in the province in the past time. At the same time, he hoped to continue to receive support from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and the Southwest Pipeline Operating Company in the coming time.

“On behalf of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, in the coming time, we will continue to coordinate well with the sectors to create favorable conditions for the compensation and site clearance work for the Block B - O Mon Gas Pipeline project in the province to achieve results.

Direct the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of localities to actively propagate and mobilize people in the project area to create the best conditions for project implementation to meet the schedule set by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and the Southwest Pipeline Operating Company.

"Direct and coordinate the implementation of social security work in accordance with regulations, ensuring publicity and transparency, creating high consensus among the people," Mr. Le Thanh Viet said at the ceremony.
