Recently, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province announced a list of 9 land plots to be auctioned for land use rights in 2024. Of which, the old Vung Tau tourist market land plot with an area of over 2.9 hectares has attracted many people's attention, due to its prime location on Nguyen Bieu Street, Thang Tam Ward, adjacent to Bai Sau beach.
This land is planned for commercial and service use, and the Land Fund Development Center of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province will organize the auction.

According to Nguoi Dua Tin reporter on August 11, the entire area of the land outside has been surrounded by corrugated iron, while inside some items built with concrete have been demolished.

According to research, in 2012, this land was leased by the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to Vietnam Science and Technology Joint Stock Company (Busadco) to build Vung Tau tourist market.
After Vung Tau tourist market came into operation, traders signed contracts with Busadco to do business with hundreds of stalls, souvenir and food stalls...

By 2017, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province rearranged and handled state-owned houses and lands of Busadco.
In February 2020, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province issued a decision to reclaim this land and hand it over to the Provincial Land Fund Development Center for management.
After that, Busadco terminated the contract with the traders, however, many households still sell food and beverage products here.
By mid-2022, the entire land area will be reclaimed, small businesses will officially cease operations, relocate assets and hand over the premises.

In Vung Tau City, there are 5 areas: the old tourist market land in Thang Tam ward with an area of over 2.9 hectares; the 13.8-hectare area at Mui Nghinh Phong, ward 2; the land recovered from Vung Tau International Medical Initiative Company Limited, ward 11; the 76.7-hectare area in the urban area of 3/2 street in ward 10, ward 11 and the 1.4-hectare area (Green Crayfish) in Thang Tam ward.
In Long Dien district, there are 3 areas: 0.68ha area recovered from Thanh Chi Joint Stock Company; 0.71ha area recovered from Long Hai seafood warehouse and 1.11ha area recovered from Sugarcane Corporation II.
Finally, the 1.7ha land in Phu My ward (Phu My town) is planned as medical facility land to implement a hospital project with a scale of 200 beds.
