For many years, the Binh Duong General Hospital project (1,500-bed hospital) has always been a hot topic of discussion among authorities and people.
The reason this hospital is the "center" of attention is because this is one of the projects with "huge" investment capital, serving the medical examination and treatment of people and sharing the burden when the facilities of Binh Duong General Hospital (512-bed hospital) cannot meet the demand.
Although it has been nearly 10 years, the project is still unfinished. PV Nguoi Dua Tin recorded the whole picture of the project above.
The 1,500-bed hospital project is considered a key project of Binh Duong province, built to serve the medical examination and treatment needs of people in the area.
The hospital, with an investment capital of about 2,300 billion VND, started construction at the end of 2014 and is expected to be completed in 2016. This project is located in Dinh Hoa ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province.
The Binh Duong General Hospital project with a scale of 1,500 beds is expected to be one of the leading medical centers in the region.
Although construction began in 2014, the project was then "shelved" for many years due to problems with contractors and site clearance...
Facilities that have not been put into use yet show signs of damage.
Several ceiling panels fell off the ceiling and were hanging loosely.
After many years of being "shelved", in 2019, the project resumed construction with the expectation that it would be completed and put into operation by the end of 2021 at the latest. However, due to many reasons, mainly due to the division of the project, lack of a general contractor, and poor investment preparation, many problems arose during implementation, causing waste of resources and time.
The large-scale project has not been put into operation for nearly 10 years, making people angry.
In February 2023, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee led a survey team to inspect the construction process and problems of the 1,500-bed hospital project. The Binh Duong Secretary requested that the project be completed by the end of 2023, but to date it remains unfinished.
At the end of July 2024, during the meeting of the People's Council of Binh Duong province, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province Vo Van Minh said that the province is currently finalizing the policy to adjust the hospital equipment project. Along with that, he directed the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board to urgently handle the termination of the contract with the construction unit of the central technical block project and the funeral home; organize the selection of a new construction contractor with enough capacity and experience to continue implementing the project.
Inside the campus, many items are still unfinished.
The People's Committee of Binh Duong province also directed the urgent implementation of the parking lot project, the preparation of investment procedures for the dormitory block, as well as the remaining component projects, striving to complete the project in the third quarter of 2025.
People are still looking forward to the 1,500-bed hospital project soon "finishing" to serve the people.
