Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan - Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, head of the Club, said that after a long preparation period, the seminar took place with the aim of solving the difficulties and problems of current higher education institutions. The content of the seminar with 3 main topics has been carefully prepared. Through specific reports, solutions and educational orientations will be found for all units in the conditions of autonomy and self-responsibility.
At the seminar, delegates discussed issues related to human resources in the Industry - Trade - Service sector with 3 presentations;
Presentation 1: Structure and training level of the labor force to meet the human resource needs for the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country in the first decades of the 21st century. Through the presentation, Dr. Le Viet Khuyen - Vice President of the Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges proposed a number of solutions to restructure the national education system to synchronize with the development status of each higher education institution and in line with international trends.
Presentation 2: Promoting human resources in the Industry - Trade - Service sector according to the joint training model between Colleges and Universities. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Quang - Vice Principal of the University of Economics and Industrial Technology clarified the argument about the current situation of rapidly increasing social demand, especially in the fields related to industry, trade and services. From the current situation, the structure of human resources is unevenly distributed and the rate of trained workers is low, the capacity of human resources in general is not highly appreciated when many students after graduation still lack soft skills, technology skills and foreign language skills. Training units are not uniform in training capacity and have not promoted the capacity and strengths of each school, so there is still a situation of overtraining human resources in many fields. Therefore, to meet the human resource structure and improve training capacity and human resource quality for society, training institutions, in addition to promoting their strengths, need to invest and promote joint programs with prestigious foreign schools, and strengthen links between schools under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Discussion 3: Strengthening inspection and examination work associated with changes in legal policies in human resource training in the Industry, Trade and Service sectors. Through the discussion, Dr. Le Viet Long - Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed solutions in the shift in labor structure: developing the education and training system, improving the quality of human resources. The first is to improve the quality of vocational education, standardize the team of teachers, lecturers and managers at all levels. Strengthening cooperation between vocational training institutions and enterprises, linking training with the needs of the labor market, training vocational skills right in industrial parks and export processing zones to reduce training costs and provide on-site human resources for production facilities in industrial parks and export processing zones. In addition, strengthening regular training and retraining for workers; expanding the scale of training, improving the quality of training. Focus on forming a vocational education training service market and conducting extensive socialization in vocational education.
At the end of the Seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan - Party Secretary, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, Chairman of the Club, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, expressed his thanks to the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the leaders of the University of Economics and Technology, the Club Organizing Committee and affirmed that in his role, he would help, support and share with all his heart and hoped that the schools would always unite and help each other to develop further. The Organizing Committee hopes that the research results and contributions will continue to be perfected and implemented in practice to contribute to promoting the development of policies and human resources in the Industry - Trade - Service sector.
