At the meeting with rice exporting enterprises about the current rice price market, Minister of Agriculture Do Duc Duy said that the current time is the adjustment period of the market. According to the analysis and assessment of experts, this adjustment is normal for goods in general; including rice goods. However, ministries and branches will not be subjective but continue to closely monitor market developments and analyze, forecast, and propose policies to maintain and stabilize the supply and demand of rice products domestically as well as for export. The Vietnamese rice industry maintains this year's export volume of about 7.8 million tons of rice and ensures export prices in the quality rice segment so that businesses and farmers can make high profits.

To achieve the set goals, Minister Do Duc Duy suggested that businesses continue to research, develop, and expand rice export markets around the world. In addition to traditional markets, businesses need to find ways to expand to new, potential markets such as the US, EU, Middle East, Africa, etc.

Domestically, businesses should comply with rice export regulations; at the same time, expand the scale and improve capacity, especially linking the production chain between purchasing enterprises, farmers, exporting enterprises, etc.

At the same time, Minister Do Duc Duy suggested that businesses with many years of experience and traditional customers continue to invest in expanding warehouse systems and developing logistics systems so that during times of market adjustment, they can increase temporary purchases of rice. When the market recovers and prices and demand increase, businesses will have a ready source of goods for export. This will help increase business profits.

The Minister hopes that businesses participating in the rice market and rice exporting businesses will strengthen their connections with each other to share experiences, support market development, and ensure goods sources to meet market demand at the most favorable times.

"The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will advise the Government and central ministries and branches on solutions for healthy development, stabilization, and balance of supply and demand in the rice market towards an increasingly professional rice production and export market. At the same time, priority and incentives will be given to businesses that operate methodically, comply with the law, and have a closely linked chain from production, purchasing, processing, and exporting," the Minister emphasized.

Minister Do Duc Duy requested that departmental leaders closely follow the direction of the Standing Committee and the People's Committees of provinces and cities to soon stabilize the model and organize the apparatus according to the new apparatus model. At the same time, urgently integrate the programs and work plans for the year of the two sectors after merging into agriculture and environment to advise the provincial People's Committees for approval and unified implementation.

According to the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, this year, the country has set a fairly high growth target, so the Department of Agriculture and Environment of localities needs to promptly review and grasp the growth targets of the industry and the Mekong Delta region; advise the People's Committees of provinces and cities on proactive solutions to develop production, respond to drought and salinity and adverse weather conditions.

At the same time, Minister Do Duc Duy also requested provinces and cities to promote the implementation of the Project on sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta region by 2030.
