The rice field becomes a rural flower road

Not only the main roads, but also the internal roads of the commune are paved smoothly, the two sides of the fields are decorated with colorful canary flowers and lilies, making the picture of the countryside more brilliant and full of life.

Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Ha, Head of the Farmers' Association of An Lac Hamlet, said: "At the end of 2022, we will continue to implement the flower road model of about 1km right on the internal road running through the hamlet.

After launching, farmers responded enthusiastically. To implement the model, we encouraged members to plant many different types of flowers to create diverse colors for the road.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep, in Dong Trung hamlet, added that many local people as well as people from other places came to the flower street to take souvenir photos.

“There are many different scenes here, from rice fields, flower roads to wooden chairs placed on both sides of the fields… Farmers’ Association members work together to clean up weeds and take care of flowers to make the flower roads more and more brilliant,” Mr. Hiep happily said.

According to the Farmers' Association of An Nhut commune, after more than 2 years of launching, the flower road model, the flower route "Green, clean, beautiful route" has been actively responded to by many members and farmers in the commune and has been replicated in all hamlets in the commune.

Up to now, more than 5km of flower roads in An Lac, Dong Trung and An Hoa hamlets have been planted and cared for by farmer members every day.

Since the new rural flower road model was established, many families living on both sides of the road in An Nhut commune, Long Dien district (Ba Ria-Vung Tau province) have also voluntarily planted flowers and trees in front of their houses.

To implement the model, the Farmers' Association of An Nhut commune, Long Dien district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province coordinated with associations and organizations to mobilize people to clear grass, clear bushes, and plow the soil to plant flowers on their land.

The flowers planted on the new rural flower roads in An Nhut commune are mainly portulaca, yellow trumpet vine, butterfly vine...

These are flower varieties that are vigorous, grow quickly, have bright colors, are easy to grow, require little care, adapt to the weather and are suitable for roadside landscapes.

Up to now, An Nhut commune, Long Dien district has 15 internal roads, with a total length of more than 20km, that have been concreted and asphalted.

The Commune People's Committee coordinated with the Party Committee, the Fatherland Front, departments, branches and organizations to mobilize Party members to contribute money and labor to invest in the lighting system. In places where flowers were planted, people no longer littered, and everyone was aware of keeping the public clean.

Mr. Nguyen Tuong Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Nhut Commune, Long Dien District (Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province) said that in order for the flower street model to have a wide influence, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune have directed associations and organizations to develop plans, integrating the construction of cultural life with the program of building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

This is also a good implementation of criterion number 2 on synchronous socio-economic infrastructure, so that An Nhut can complete the goal of building a model new rural area in 2023.
