Binh Dinh calls for investment from wood industry enterprises

On March 6, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province), the opening ceremony of the Quy Nhon International Outdoor Fashion Fair - Q.FAIR 2025 took place. The fair was jointly organized by the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province and the Binh Dinh Timber and Forest Products Association from March 6 to 9.

The 2025 Quy Nhon International Outdoor Style Fair brings together more than 1,200 booths on an area of ​​30,000m², with the participation of hundreds of domestic and foreign wood industry enterprises related to outdoor products, serving modern lifestyles in the world. This is not only an international exhibition fair on Outdoor products of the whole country, but also shows the new, unique and distinctive features of Binh Dinh wooden furniture in particular and the Vietnamese wood industry in general.

The fair has main display areas such as the area for interior and exterior wooden furniture, raw wood, accessories, paint, wood industry auxiliaries such as packaging, fabrics, services, etc.; the area for wooden houses; the sandy beach area for wooden houses and outdoor furniture; the area for machinery and equipment for wood processing and production.

In his opening speech, Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh said that Binh Dinh has an area of ​​forest and forestry land of about 414,644 hectares. Of which, planted forests are 136,395 hectares, non-forested land is 64,207 hectares, with forest coverage reaching 57.7% compared to coastal provinces (from Da Nang to Binh Thuan), Binh Dinh's forest coverage is in the fairly good group. Promoting the effectiveness of the Project on large timber tree development in the period of 2016-2025, with a vision to 2035, up to now, the whole province has 10,123.5 hectares of large timber tree plantation; the forest area certified for sustainable forest management (FSC) is 12,175.9 hectares. It is oriented that by 2035, the area of ​​large timber tree plantation will reach 30,000 hectares, with an average large timber output rate of over 60%. With a production method following the value chain from afforestation, processing and product consumption, Binh Dinh is gradually becoming a high-tech forest product processing center of the region.

As one of the “wood industry capitals” of Vietnam, Binh Dinh has more than 320 wood processing enterprises operating, concentrated in large industrial parks such as Phu Tai and Long My, with a total investment capital of about 13,000 billion VND. Export products mainly include furniture, exterior, garden, wood chips, pellets, serving the markets of the US, EU, UK, Australia, Japan... Binh Dinh has also actively encouraged enterprises to apply modern processing technology, meeting international standards such as ISO, FSC-CoC, VFTN, to meet the requirements of export markets.

To improve the capacity of the wood processing industry in the direction of increasing added value and sustainability, the province has actively mobilized, encouraged and supported wood processing enterprises to focus on applying science and technology to increase labor productivity, green production, circulation, diversify products and designs; implement the FSC-CoC Chain of Custody management process, VFTN certification, etc. Along with that, wood processing enterprises are encouraged to develop diversified markets; directly, link with people to participate in planting large timber forests, take initiative in raw material sources, form links and supply chains of raw materials to ensure origin. Using imported wood materials and exploiting from sustainably managed forests with FSC certification, initially meeting the strict environmental requirements and standards of EU countries and the United States.
