Today (August 6), Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Gau had a working session with the Standing Committee of the Son Dong District Party Committee on the results of implementing political tasks from the beginning of 2024 to present; preparations for the Party Congresses at all levels in the district Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of Son Dong District Party Committee reported on the results achieved in the first 7 months of 2024.

Accordingly, up to now, Son Dong district has basically achieved and exceeded 12/15 targets set by the District Party Congress. In the first 6 months of 2024, the district's industrial and construction production value reached over 3,330 billion VND, an increase of 19.6%.

The leaders of Son Dong district also pointed out many difficulties, such as the high rate of poor and near-poor households in the area; inadequate planning work, and failure to attract businesses to invest. This is also the only locality in Bac Giang province that does not have an industrial park or cluster.

At the meeting, Mr. Le O Pich, Vice Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee, suggested that Son Dong district should be more determined in planning traffic infrastructure to unleash resources for economic and social development.

The district needs to clearly identify advantages and potentials to build correct, accurate, complete and timely planning, avoiding dispersion; ensuring connection between forest economic development with tourism and services.

Concluding the working session, Secretary of Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Gau acknowledged, highly appreciated, commended and congratulated the achievements that the Party Committee and people of Son Dong district have achieved in recent times.

However, Secretary Nguyen Van Gau also stated that if we frankly look at and evaluate, the results achieved are still modest and not commensurate with the potential and strengths of the district.

"From now until the end of the term (2020-2025) is an important time, in which 2024 is identified as the sprint year to strive to complete the targets of the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels. Besides opportunities and advantages, it is forecasted that there will be many difficulties, requiring all levels of sectors and localities to continue to make efforts," Mr. Nguyen Van Gau emphasized.

The Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee assessed that Son Dong district has a large area, with more than 50% of the population being ethnic minorities. Therefore, all levels, sectors and localities of the district need to do a good job of grasping the situation, forecasting the situation, promptly detecting incidents arising at the grassroots level to have measures to handle them, avoiding complicated developments.

"From its existing potential and advantages, Son Dong needs to pay attention to developing agriculture, forestry, services, and ecological spiritual tourism. In particular, promoting the development of forest economy, paying attention to developing medicinal plants under the forest canopy so that people have stable income and are attached to and protect the forest.

"Exploiting the potential and advantages of developing spiritual tourism, community tourism, and eco-tourism, in conjunction with preserving and promoting the cultural identity values ​​of the locality. Building a number of agricultural products to become brands in the area," the Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee emphasized.
