According to the notice sent to parents, AISVN said that the School has now completed the class assignments based on the registration link for the student start date sent on August 3, 2024 and is in the process of arranging the necessary teachers, staff and equipment to prepare for the 2024 - 2025 school year.
“We are currently working with the relevant authorities on the reopening of the school. Next week, the school will process payroll for current staff and finalise contracts with new staff.
The school will start the new school year in August and will notify you 3 days before the start date. In the meantime, you can continue to register your child for fun activities with friends at school by using this registration form," the notice summarizes.
According to Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, at present, the American International Primary, Secondary and High School does not meet the conditions to resume operations according to regulations.
According to Mr. Minh, the unit had previously submitted a dossier to remedy financial and personnel problems for review by the management agency and permission to resume operations. However, the dossier did not fully meet the required regulations.
Previously, on July 2, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City decided to suspend the operations of the American International Primary, Secondary and High School in Nha Be District. The suspension period is 12 months from July 1, 2024.
In parallel with the suspension, in order to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of students, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has also worked with 18 high schools with investment capital and teaching foreign programs to calculate the reception capacity and support policies for students who want to transfer from the American International School.
It is known that after being suspended, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Em - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of AISVN also met with reporters to inform them that she had found a new investor to replace her in running the school in the near future.
