Military Hospital 175 honors the family of multiple organ and tissue donors

NDO - On the afternoon of April 25, Military Hospital 175 organized a ceremony to express gratitude, share and encourage the spirit of the patient's family who had just donated multiple tissues and organs to save people. The patient's family's actions contributed to spreading the humane message about tissue and organ donation with the profound meaning of "giving is forever".

On April 7, at Military Hospital 175, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Phuong's family made a noble decision, a beautiful and humane gesture, to donate part of her husband's body to save and revive sick people, giving them the opportunity to return to normal life.

During the surgery, the units mobilized nearly 100 doctors, nurses, and technicians to urgently coordinate and successfully remove 2 kidneys, liver (divided into 2 lobes), heart, and 2 corneas.

Major General Tran Quoc Viet, Party Secretary and Director of Military Hospital 175, on behalf of the organ recipients and the medical staff of Military Hospital 108, Hue Central Hospital, Children's Hospital 2, and Military Hospital 175, sent the most sincere and deepest thanks to Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Phuong's family.

“You are brave, loving and altruistic people whose decision to give not only changes the fate of the recipient but also brightens the value of life in the community,” said Major General Tran Quoc Viet.

Major General Tran Quoc Viet shared that the hospital will always be ready to support Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Phuong's family with health-related issues or other issues if the family has a need. "This is the hospital's responsibility to express its affection and gratitude through the most practical actions to the family," Dr. Viet emphasized.

Major General Tran Quoc Viet, Director of Military Hospital 175 and the medical staff bowed their heads in gratitude to the organ donor.

Doctor Tran Quoc Viet also informed that currently, the patients who received organs have recovered and started to return to their daily lives.

At the ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Phuong (wife of the organ donor) was moved to express her gratitude to the team of doctors and nurses: "Although he could not keep his life intact, with the most modern methods, the doctors somehow saved my husband's life, so that a part of his body could continue to "live" every day, to fulfill his last wish."

Ms. Phuong also expressed her wish that she will continue to contribute to medicine so that she can share and help those who are less fortunate have the opportunity to become healthy again and have a better life.

It is known that in recent times, with the loving message in life "Giving is forever", tens of thousands of people across the country have volunteered to register to donate tissues and organs to save lives.
