This week, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and educational institutions will begin implementing virtual screening for university admissions in 2024.
On August 12, units under the Ministry of Education and Training and universities will coordinate to review the database on the admission system.
From August 13 to 5:00 p.m. on August 17, the virtual filtering process was conducted to determine the candidates' highest admission wishes. The virtual filtering was carried out by the Ministry of Education and Training 6 times.
The 6th virtual screening will be completed at 4:00 p.m. on August 17. After that, schools will download the results of the 6th round of processing and prepare to announce the admission scores.

In addition to the general virtual filtering process of the Ministry of Education and Training, the units also formed two virtual filtering groups in the North and the South. The Northern virtual filtering group is chaired by the University of Technology and the Southern virtual filtering group is coordinated by the Ho Chi Minh City National University.
Before 5:00 p.m. on August 17, schools will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system, review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results for preschool education colleges and universities in 2024.
Before 5:00 p.m. on August 27, candidates confirm online admission for the first round on the system.
From August 28, schools will announce additional enrollment rounds. From September to December, schools will consider the next rounds, update the list of successful candidates and enroll according to regulations.

General admission process of the Ministry of Education and Training.
To ensure smooth virtual filtering and admission, the Ministry of Education and Training has organized technical training for schools across the country. Universities prepare facilities and human resources to participate in the nationwide virtual filtering with the general admission system as well as two separate virtual filtering groups.
Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said that after the end of the registration period, universities received initial data on the total number of candidates and admission wishes.
The University of Industry has more than 40,000 candidates registered to the school (an increase of 17% compared to 2023) with more than 60,000 wishes. Specific information about each major will be provided when the virtual filtering officially begins.
To ensure smooth virtual screening and admission process, the school has arranged technical staff and equipment to participate in the national virtual screening process and the virtual screening process of the Southern group. Admissions staff and technical staff will be on duty 24/7 to carry out the virtual screening and admission process.
This year, the general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training recorded more than 733,000 candidates registering for admission (equivalent to 68.5% of the number of high school graduation exam takers), an increase of about 73,000 compared to last year.
Of the nearly 400 training majors, divided into 24 fields, the most candidates registered for the business and management, engineering and technology groups. Next were the computer and information technology, and pedagogy fields. In particular, the teacher training group had an 85% increase in the number of wishes compared to last year (equivalent to 200,000 wishes).
