This is an important cultural and historical project to honor the great journalistic legacy that President Ho Chi Minh and previous revolutionary journalists left for today's and future generations of journalists.

Journalist Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association spoke at the program.
On behalf of the leadership of the Vietnam Journalists Association, I would like to warmly welcome and sincerely thank the leaders at the Central level, the leaders of Thai Nguyen province and the distinguished delegates for your attention and time spent attending this important event; I wish you all good health, happiness and success!
Dear delegates and guests!
In 1949, the resistance war against France entered a fierce phase. The task of promoting press propaganda to carry out revolutionary tasks in the period of preparing for the general counter-offensive and the successful general counter-offensive under the direction of President Ho Chi Minh, was proactively carried out by the Viet Minh General Department and the Resistance Press Group with the initiative to promote the establishment of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School. The establishment of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was a special milestone associated with the glorious journey of journalism under the guidance of President Ho Chi Minh - the first teacher of revolutionary journalism, the genius leader of our nation.
The school's name was personally chosen by President Ho Chi Minh. He paid special attention and spent time twice writing letters to encourage the teaching and learning spirit of the teachers and students at the school at that time. He advised: "This class is the first journalism class, I hope you guys and girls compete to study and practice to be worthy pioneers on the journalism front. The press must also carry out the slogan: All for victory!".
Following his teachings, the School Board of Directors was established with 5 members: Mr. Do Duc Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Viet Minh General Department as Director, Mr. Xuan Thuy as Deputy Director. Within 3 months, from April 4, 1949 to July 6, 1949, the school successfully organized its special short-term training course.
Due to the war situation, Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School could only organize this one course. More than 40 students were political, military and press cadres from all over the country. More than 30 lecturers participated in the course, who were leaders with rich political experience, rich in theory and practice, and famous cultural and artistic activists and revolutionary intellectuals such as: Comrade Truong Chinh, Comrade Vo Nguyen Giap, Comrade Hoang Quoc Viet, Comrade Le Quang Dao, Comrade To Huu, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Le, journalist Quang Dam, writer, poet, literary critic Nguyen Dinh Thi, writer Nguyen Huy Tuong, poet Xuan Dieu, writer Nam Cao, poet The Lu, writer Nguyen Tuan, etc.
General Secretary Truong Chinh taught directly at the School. He left his handwriting in the class's Impressions Book as follows: "This first class of Huynh Thuc Khang School was a good experiment. I believe that after learning from the experience of this class, the Viet Minh Headquarters will be more successful in training cadres to fight the enemy with their pens and guide public opinion."
After graduation, many students have become key writers for many press agencies or in the country's cultural and artistic fields.

Delegates attended the Inauguration and Handover Program of the Project to Restore and Renovate the National Monument of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School.
From the first milestone of journalism training at Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, up to now, we have had more than a dozen training facilities for journalism staff for all four types: Print, radio, television, and electronic newspapers with degrees from bachelor to doctorate. In 1949, we had about ten newspapers with about 300 journalists, but by the end of 2023, the whole country had 6 key multimedia agencies, 127 newspaper agencies, 671 magazine agencies, 72 radio and television agencies and over 40,000 journalists...
Time gradually passes with the flow of history, most of the lecturers and students of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School have passed away. Although it is late, we are still trying to honor and remember a generation of pioneering resistance journalists on the press front who devoted their lives to the goal of "All for victory" contributing to the glorious tradition and vitality of our country's revolutionary press.
In 2019, based on the records, documents and artifacts painstakingly collected and prepared by the Vietnam Press Museum, with the great determination of the leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the attention of the Party committees, authorities, people of Thai Nguyen province and the cultural sector, the "red address" Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was zoned for protection and was granted a National Monument Certificate by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the School's founding.
With the desire to continue to preserve and promote the historical value and stature of the Relic on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the School's founding and towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the Vietnam Journalists Association has directed the Vietnam Press Museum to establish a project to restore and embellish the Relic of the founding site of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School from socialized capital and has been assigned the responsibility of Investor.
Dear guests!
After 6 months and 22 days, regardless of the unpredictable weather, the renovation and embellishment work has been completed and today we are all happy to be here, together witnessing the moment the project is put into use, with the desire to widely serve the public and people of the whole country.
Now, next to Nui Coc Lake, reflecting on the historical land of Tan Thai, a complex of relics was designed and constructed based on the records and documents left behind about a bamboo lecture hall on the hill and the stilt house of the Viet Minh Headquarters, like two miniature museums, with the Vietnam Press Museum making efforts to display two exhibitions: "Viet Bac War Zone Journalism 1946-1954" and "Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School - 1949". Equally prominent is the 200m2 "mini square", with a relief nearly 3m high and nearly 8m wide, which is expected to be an impressive highlight that creates emotions for visitors.

Journalist Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association and delegates took a souvenir photo at the inauguration and handover ceremony of the project.
In order for the project to come to life and promote the best efficiency, I propose that the Vietnam Press Museum coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province, the People's Committee of Dai Tu district, the Monument Management Board and related units to continue researching and perfecting plans and projects to manage, protect and promote the value of the monument, linking with historical and cultural sites of the Viet Bac war zone in the past, forming a meaningful origin tourism route, commemorating the merits of our ancestors, while experiencing local culture and discovering the beauty of the "Capital of Thousand Winds" in the 50s of the last century in modern times.
On behalf of the leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association, I would like to thank the attention and presence of the leaders of the Party, the State, the Central ministries and branches and Thai Nguyen province, and thank the Project sponsor, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, and the management, design, supervision and construction consultants, painters and sculptors who have joined hands and united in restoring and embellishing the project so that it can be completed on schedule, meet quality requirements and truly be an attractive destination!
Thank you very much!
