Sharing the joy with the villagers, Village Elder Giang A Lu expressed: "Every Tet, our village receives care, attention, gifts and New Year wishes from the 720 soldiers. That affection is so deep, the Mong people will never forget it."
Regiment 720 has been with the people of Dak Ngo commune for nearly 26 years since its establishment. The fact that 312 Mong households, after months of wandering, shifting cultivation, and nomadic life in the forests of the Central Highlands, were brought to a new place by the soldiers of the 16th Army Corps, directly by Regiment 720, to establish a Mong village in 2002 marked the process of settling down and the bond of solidarity between the army and the people.
In the early days, officers and soldiers went to each house to distribute money, rice, and salt to the people; then divided the land, provided technical guidance, provided seedlings, livestock, initial capital, and guaranteed product consumption... to help the people stabilize their lives and develop their economy. The economic-defense project undertaken by the Regiment received and arranged jobs for Mong workers. Soldiers built classrooms, opened schools, built roads, and brought electricity to the people, bringing light and joy.
From 3 primitive, poor, backward Mong villages, now every house has a TV, motorbike, even a car. A prosperous life has appeared in every house and village thanks to the help and dedicated care of the officers and soldiers of Regiment 720.

In addition, each year, the unit examines, admits, and treats more than 3,000 people; builds 3 schools and 2 houses for teachers; directly raises 5 Mong ethnic orphans; and supports 20 orphans in the area.
The Regiment has renovated 40km of roads in residential areas in the project area; renovated and upgraded 60km of medium-low voltage power lines, 12 transformer stations, 20km of lighting lines; built nearly 30 concrete bridges, 20 dams to ensure irrigation for more than 3,000 households, 3 factories and 17 wells to provide clean water for the people...
Recently, Regiment 720 inaugurated and put into use a bridge connecting the two banks of the stream in Sin Chai village (Dak Ngo commune) with a cost of more than 150 million VND, facilitating traffic, transporting goods and agricultural products and ensuring safety for people when exploiting rubber latex.
According to Village Elder Ma Seo Thao (Sin Chai village), whenever the villagers encounter difficulties, hardships, epidemics, natural disasters, fires, etc., the officers and soldiers of Regiment 720 are always there to support and share promptly, helping the villagers overcome difficulties and escape poverty. The 720 soldiers are like relatives of the Mong people, a reliable and solid support for the Mong people to settle down and make a living.
Lieutenant Colonel Doan Manh Nghia, Political Commissar of Regiment 720 affirmed: “Standing in an area with a large population of ethnic minorities, officers and soldiers of the Regiment always clearly identify their responsibilities, closely connect with and care for the material and spiritual lives of the people to contribute to the development of local social security; at the same time, strengthen the relationship of solidarity between the army and the people, building a solid "people's hearts and minds position".
