Dong Huu is a mountainous commune, located in the northeast of Yen The district, with an area of ​​2,177.78 hectares and a population of about 5,300 people. The commune has focused on investing heavily in infrastructure development. The transportation system has received special attention, with the completion of the entire 11.3km of asphalt commune roads. The concrete roads have been completed with a total length of 30.9km, making year-round travel more convenient than ever.

The community also contributed more than 11,000m² of land and more than 200 working days, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the people in building infrastructure. In 2024, Dong Huu commune was assigned by the District Party Committee and People's Committee to meet new rural standards. Therefore, the Party Committee and the commune government identified this as a key task requiring high concentration of the entire political system, promoting solidarity, creativity and promoting the role of the people as the main subject.

On February 19, 2025, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province signed a decision to recognize Dong Huu commune, Yen The district as meeting the new rural commune standards in 2024.
