Ms. Harris went to Nevada to campaign on August 10.
CNBC on August 11 cited a new survey showing that US Vice President Kamala Harris is leading former President Donald Trump in the support rate in the battleground states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
The survey was conducted by The New York Times /Siena College from August 2-8 with the participation of 619 voters in Michigan, 661 voters in Wisconsin and from August 3-9 with 693 voters in Pennsylvania.
The poll found that Ms. Harris had 50% support compared to Mr. Trump’s 46% support among likely voters in all three states. Likely voters are a small subset of the total electorate.
If all voters participating in the survey are counted, the results are different, when Ms. Harris still leads by 4 percentage points in Wisconsin, but only leads by 3 percentage points in Pennsylvania and is 3 percentage points behind Mr. Trump in Michigan.
The survey provides the most recent data on the turmoil that has unfolded since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race in July and endorsed Ms. Harris for the Democratic presidential nomination.
While polls still show the candidates neck and neck, it's clear that Ms. Harris has fundamentally changed the complexion of the race in just one month.
In the weeks since Mr Biden withdrew, Ms Harris has made up for much of the lost votes for Democrats and even surpassed Mr Trump in some cases.
In May, before Mr. Biden’s unconvincing debate performance, a New York Times /Siena College poll showed Mr. Biden tied with Mr. Trump in Wisconsin but trailing in Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Mr Trump's campaign said the latest poll "significantly underestimates" his support among voters.
Meanwhile, the economy remains the top concern for many voters. Polls show Mr. Trump leading Ms. Harris by 9 percentage points on how he handles economic issues.
