Born and raised in a poor village in Van Ho district (Son La province), TTY (left in the photo) had to face the storms of life early on. Due to fate, Ms. Y. was involved in the law at a very young age and had to serve her sentence at Quyet Tien prison.

Back home, on the high mountains, Y.'s parents still wait every day for their daughter to complete her rehabilitation and return home. Because of her old age and difficult family circumstances, Y.'s parents have never been able to visit her at the prison.

Every day, the girl who made mistakes only knows how to reform well, diligently learn a trade to wait for the day she can reunite with her family. On March 14, at Quyet Tien prison, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union coordinated with Department C10 and related units to organize the program "Lighting up the dream of rehabilitation" in 2025. Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee presented many gifts to prisoners with difficult circumstances and good rehabilitation. In particular, the Organizing Committee visited and gave livelihoods to TTY's parents in their hometown.

When learning about Y.'s situation, many female prisoners could not hold back their tears.

Because among the young people who have made mistakes and are serving sentences at Quyet Tien prison, most of them are still very young, violating the law due to lack of knowledge and not fully aware of their wrongdoings.

At 4 sub-camps, there are thousands of female prisoners serving sentences for various crimes such as drug trafficking, illegal possession, fraud, and property appropriation.

Through the program "Lighting up the dream of rehabilitation" in 2025, TTY and NTLT as well as other female prisoners have learned many things. The most important of which is the awareness of respecting the law, living a useful life for family and society, and the will to rise up and rebuild their lives.

At Quyet Tien prison, every time someone finishes serving their sentence, the prisoners in each cell hold a farewell party. Even though it is just a sweet party with candy and fruit, everyone is happy to have another friend reintegrating into the community .
