In 2023, ACB officially released the 2022 Sustainable Development Report, becoming the first bank in Vietnam to publish a separate report on Sustainable Development (ESG). ACB shows that the reasonable balance between short-term results and long-term sustainable development, between revenue growth and creating value for stakeholders has helped the bank operate effectively.

Recently, ACB recorded business results for the first 6 months of the year with pre-tax profit reaching 10.5 trillion VND, credit growth of 12.8%, continuing to be in the group of banks with the lowest bad debt ratio in the context of economic fluctuations and the banking and finance industry facing many challenges.

"Green and Social Credit" package with a limit of 2,000 billion VND

In early 2024, ACB launched a “Green and Social Credit” package with a limit of VND2,000 billion and many incentives for businesses with production and business plans that benefit the environment and society. Accordingly, ACB prioritizes credit financing for businesses with production and business plans in the Green category (renewable energy (solar power); efficient use of energy; green buildings; pollution control and prevention; clean transportation (including hybrid vehicles); sustainable water management and wastewater treatment; sustainable management of living environment, natural resources and land use) or in the Social category (eligible businesses owned by women, demonstrating progress and equal empowerment). ACB's "Green and Social Credit" package is built based on the categories and criteria of the green/sustainable finance framework, advised and guided by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to ensure compliance with international rules while remaining consistent and in line with ACB's internal processes.

In 2023, ACB officially launched a program to collect 300 tons of plastic waste for the 2023-2025 period. Modestly setting a target of collecting 45 tons for 2023, however, with the consensus of nearly 14,000 employees and 410 departments, ACB exceeded expectations, successfully cleaning up 85 tons of general waste, classifying and treating 68 tons of plastic waste nationwide. In addition, 159 classified waste bins were also equipped at ACB's transaction offices/branches. Although the first step is modest, it demonstrates the bank's commitment and determination to act on the journey of sustainable development. 2024 is not simply a call for encouragement, ACB aims to practice ESG in a practical and substantive manner, directly impacting the environment and society.
