The National Book Awards are organized and awarded annually, directed and managed by the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications , and directly implemented by the Vietnam Publishing Association and the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution.
The award received enthusiastic response from publishing units. Literature Publishing House has just announced 7 works participating in the award.

The work "People who are forever 'not' old (60 portraits of Vietnamese artists of the past)".
The book "Those who have never been "yet" old" (60 portraits of Vietnamese artists of the past) by Tran Thi Truong is a collection of 60 faces of Vietnamese culture and art that the author had the opportunity to meet, talk to and enjoy their works.
Reading these 60 literary portraits, readers will know more about the artists (living, working, loving, succeeding or failing), and at the same time visualize the living environment of artists in a historical period of the country.
The 60 portraits in the book, some have passed away, some the author still meets every day. She writes what she knows about them, including the most private things.
"Nguyen Binh - The national soul shines on the paper" by author Nguyen Si Dai consists of 8 parts, which are essays, criticisms and research on the life, career and works of poet Nguyen Binh. The author goes into depth and analyzes the poetics, clarity, simplicity, assertive personality and uniqueness in Nguyen Binh's poetry.
"The Mood of Prince Tuong An" through his poetry (author Nguyen Khue), introduces to readers more fully an outstanding poet who has almost been forgotten. The author has collected many valuable documents about Tuong An's biography and poetry.
The author clearly reconstructs Tuong An's background, subtly analyzes the poet's mood, seeks the underlying causes, and explains that mood.

The work "The call of the peasants".
"Anthology of Military Writers" is a massive book of about 3,000 pages with 5 volumes, including the yearbooks and works of 366 writers, poets, critics, and translators representing the team of soldier writers nationwide.
The literary works written by soldiers selected in the book series contributed to lifting the spirits of those holding guns during the war, instilling in them love for their homeland, humanitarian spirit and justice, strengthening their will to live and fight for a brighter tomorrow. Those selected literary works also contributed to honoring the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers.
"The Call of the Peasants" by Khachik Dashtents (translated by Nguyen Van Chien, Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Le Duc Man, Tran Bich Thu) is a book describing the tragedy of Western Armenians during World War I. The work reflects certain historical and artistic views of the talented Armenian writer.
"Immortal Fire Pan" (War Memoirs) by author Vo Quang Tien is a story about the years of fighting and heroic sacrifice of Uncle Ho's soldiers on the battlefield of Quang Nam - Da Nang . Author Vo Quang Tien - one of those who were able to return from that fierce "fire pan" - took up his pen to record the unforgettable moments in his life and his comrades.

The work "Immortal Fire Pan (War Memoirs)".
Written about wartime, there is praise, there is joy, but above all, the book is a true story written by a soldier, containing the pain and nostalgia of a person who stepped out from the flames of bombs and bullets.
