
Each scholar will receive a full scholarship to complete their master's degree at prestigious universities in the UK, and their studies will begin in September 2024.
According to information from the British Embassy in Vietnam, five Vietnamese female students have just been announced to receive full scholarships in the STEM field for women (Women in STEM) under two ASEAN-UK programs SAGE (Supporting the Advancement of Girls' Education) and the British Council's Women in STEM Scholarship. Both scholarship programs aim to address gender disparities in access to education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Following a competitive selection process involving hundreds of applications, five Vietnamese students were selected to receive five out of 24 scholarships from both the ASEAN-UK SAGE and British Council Women in STEM programmes. These talented individuals have shared their passion and vision for making a difference through STEM, a field where women are often underrepresented.

• Nguyen Vu Tuong Linh - Master of Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship, University of Bristol
• Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Master of Environmental Policy and Management, University of Bristol
• Truong Ngoc Mai - Master of Science Communication for a Better Planet, University of Bristol
The ASEAN-UK SAGE programme is the UK’s flagship education programme in ASEAN, aiming to improve outcomes in foundation education with literacy and numeracy, support girls and disadvantaged groups to access education, as well as break down gender barriers to digital skills and employment, thereby helping girls reach their full potential.
Accepting applications January 2025
For both the ASEAN-UK SAGE programme and the British Council Women in STEM programme, each scholar will receive a full scholarship to complete their master’s degree at prestigious universities in the UK, and their studies will commence from September 2024.
The ASEAN-UK SAGE programme and the British Council Women in STEM programme will resume accepting applications in January 2025.
