According to statistics from Vietnam Electricity Group, up to now, the number of renewable energy projects that have submitted documents for negotiating electricity prices and power purchase contracts is still 81/85 projects, with a total capacity of 4,597.86 MW.

Of these, 72 projects with a total capacity of 4,128.01 MW proposed a temporary price equal to 50% of the ceiling price of the price frame according to Decision No. 21/QD-BCT dated January 7, 2023 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

To date, EVN and investors have completed price negotiations and signed power purchase contracts for 64 out of the 72 projects mentioned above.

There have also been 30 transitional renewable energy plants/parts of plants with a total capacity of 1,631.85 MW that have completed the procedures for commercial operation certification (COD) and commercial power generation to the grid.

The cumulative electricity output of transitional renewable energy projects from COD to the end of February 2025 reached more than 5,385 billion kWh.

To date, 33 projects have been accepted by competent state management agencies for the entire plant/part of the plant, 37 projects have been granted electricity operation licenses for the entire plant/part of the plant, and 43 projects have had decisions to extend investment policies.

There are still 4 projects with a total capacity of 136.70 MW that have not submitted documents for electricity price negotiation.

Thus, until the official price is negotiated, these transitional renewable energy plants will only receive electricity bills calculated at a temporary price equal to 50% of the ceiling price of the price frame according to Decision No. 21/QD-BCT dated January 7, 2023 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
