This year's qualifiers will feature 33 teams, competing from August 2 to 10, 2025, for 11 tickets to the Finals in Thailand in 2026. The teams will be divided into eight groups – seven groups of four and one group of five – playing in a round-robin format at venues in Bhutan, China, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
According to the draw results, Vietnam U20 women's team is in group B as host, with opponents: U20 Kyrgyzstan, U20 Hong Kong (China) and U20 Singapore.
The group winners and the three best runners-up will join hosts Thailand in the top 12 teams at the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup™ 2026 Finals, which will take place from 1 to 18 April 2026.
Notably, this year's qualifiers will see the return of defending champions North Korea, along with three other former champions: Japan, South Korea and China. In addition, teams such as Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lebanon, Mongolia, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria, East Timor… will also be looking to make their first appearance in the Finals.
