On the afternoon of August 12, Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Acting Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting with units and departments to find solutions to remove difficulties and promote the progress of converting the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban - commercial - service area.

The project to convert the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park includes the renovation of the Dong Nai province's political and administrative center with an area of ​​about 44 hectares and the Bien Hoa 1 urban service area with an area of ​​more than 283 hectares. Currently, this industrial park still has 76 units leasing land and operating.

The project to relocate factories and enterprises in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park is divided into two phases. Phase 1, expected to be completed before December 2024, will relocate enterprises in the 75-hectare area south of the industrial park. Phase 2 will continue to relocate the remaining enterprises before December 2025. However, in reality, the progress of relocating enterprises is facing difficulties.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Nguyen, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Dong Nai province, in phase 1, there are 5 businesses relocating. There are 10 businesses that do not have plans yet. In phase 2, only 3 businesses have plans to relocate.

Mr. Nguyen said the biggest difficulty at present is building a policy mechanism to support businesses and workers during the relocation process. Current mechanisms do not meet the support needs and lack a specific legal basis.

Mr. Vo Tan Duc, acting chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, assessed that the conversion of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park's functions is still slower than required. He requested that units develop a clear work roadmap, coordinate with other sectors, and evaluate results monthly to promptly remove obstacles. Units set up a zalo group to receive information and feedback from businesses.
