According to a VNA correspondent in Mexico, taking place from March 29-30 at Abraham Lincoln Park in the city center, "Vietnam Cultural Day" is the opening event in a series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mexico diplomatic relations (May 19, 1975 - May 19, 2025).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Van Hai affirmed that, stemming from sharing many similarities in the history of fighting for independence and building the country, over the past half century, the Vietnam - Mexico relationship has become increasingly strong and spread across many fields, from politics, economics, culture to people's diplomacy. In addition, despite the great geographical distance, the Vietnam - Mexico connection is also built on the foundation of deep cultural similarities, because the two countries possess a long-standing culture, rich in national identity, with depth and containing many great spiritual values.

On behalf of the city government, Ms. Maria Gonzalez - Head of the Foreign Affairs Department of Miguel Hildango district, the central area of the capital where many international diplomatic missions are headquartered, congratulated the successful event, marking a good start for the series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Highlighting the significance of the Vietnamese cultural space as well as the professional organization of the Vietnamese Embassy, Ms. Gonzalez affirmed that this is an opportunity for the local government and people to learn more about a beautiful, peace-loving, developing and hospitable Vietnam.

At the event, in addition to folk performances by the wives and children of officials of representative agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy also brought many paintings, photos, and video clips introducing the country's beautiful landscapes and exquisite handicrafts and fine arts imbued with the identity and soul of the Vietnamese people. In addition, in the culinary space, guests and locals also had the opportunity to enjoy typical dishes such as spring rolls, fried spring rolls, fried rice, salads, etc.
