Thai Nguyen plans to reduce about 68% of commune-level administrative units after the rearrangement (from 172 to 55 communes and wards) - this is the plan discussed and received high consensus from delegates at the 95th Provincial Party Standing Committee Conference, 20th term, 2020-2025 term, on the afternoon of April 14.

Comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the arrangement and reorganization of administrative units at all levels and the organization of local governments at two levels of Thai Nguyen province (SC), chaired the Conference. Attending the Conference were comrades: Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Steering Committee and leaders of departments, branches and localities.

Speaking at the Conference, Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung emphasized the goal and great significance of the arrangement and reorganization of administrative units at all levels and the organization of two-level local governments according to the policy and direction of the Central Government. He welcomed the proactive spirit of the Steering Committee and its members who closely followed the direction and guidance of the Central Government, promptly developed plans with a spirit of urgency, determination, and without delay.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested the comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, members of the Steering Committee, leaders of departments, branches and localities to continue studying documents, listening to analysis, giving opinions and proposing plans on a scientific basis, in accordance with reality, conditions, geographical location, infrastructure to best facilitate the people, ensuring immediate and long-term benefits; grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people, cadres and party members to effectively propagate, creating high consensus in the entire political system and the people. During the implementation process, if there are difficulties or support is needed, promptly report to the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Steering Committee for guidance.

Each comrade in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, member of the Steering Committee, leaders of agencies, departments and branches, especially the heads of localities, must promote a sense of responsibility, be exemplary and be active reporters and propagandists in the implementation process.
