Images of children wearing soldier uniforms and holding red flags with yellow stars flooded social media during the historic days of April, when the whole country was preparing for the grand celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The trend called "Patriotic Children" is spreading strongly and attracting more and more participants.
The photos and clips shared always have the image of the red flag with yellow star (it is the small flag that the children hold in their hands or is printed on their shirts). The children wear military-style clothes, many of them wear clothes imitating the style of the garrison shirt, military helmet, beret, or simply wear ao dai, T-shirts with the national flag....
By spreading these images, the children's parents want to say that not only adults show patriotism, but "young shoots" are also given the opportunity to feel national pride and learn lessons about history and patriotism.

These photos are often taken by parents at historical sites such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Independence Palace, War Remnants Museum, Vietnam Military History Museum... and many other important relics across the country.
Children from a few months old to elementary school students are "dressed up" by their parents to express their patriotism in their own way. Not only do they invest in soldier costumes and take photos at historical locations, but many parents also dress up their children with dirty images like soldiers fighting on the battlefield, or create difficult poses such as lying down shooting, standing guard...
Just search with the hashtag #embeyeunuoc , you will see thousands of posts and videos on Facebook, TikTok, with lovely children in green military uniforms, bright eyes. "Those innocent, pure images not only evoke a sense of pride but also promote love for the homeland in everyone's heart", a netizen expressed.

For many parents, taking patriotic-themed photos of their children on the occasion of April 30 is not only a way to preserve beautiful memories but also to convey patriotism to the "young bamboo shoot" generation. Looking at the innocent expressions of children in the photos, they feel their love and national pride more clearly and deeply.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha in Ho Chi Minh City shared: "I want my children to understand that today's peace is thanks to the blood sacrifices of previous generations. These photos will be beautiful and important memories in their journey to adulthood."
"Children are too young now to know anything, but I think when they grow up and look back at these pictures, they will also feel a lot, their emotions about the Fatherland will be strong. Gradually growing up and participating in such events and trends, children will be imbued with patriotism and national pride naturally," said Ms. Minh Loan in Hanoi.

During the months of April, child soldier costumes are hot sellers, especially on online sales channels, serving parents who want to "dress up" their children to prepare for the April 30th celebration, to participate in the "Patriotic Baby" trend online or to visit historical sites on this occasion. With just a few hundred thousand dong, parents can dress their children in this meaningful costume, along with many accessories.
Ms. Tran Nhat Ha (30 years old, owner of a children's fashion shop in Hanoi) said that her shop continuously receives orders for buying gauze clothes for children. "During the April 30 holiday this year, these clothes are the best-selling clothes among traditional costumes for children. Sometimes the gauze clothes are completely sold out, customers have to wait 2-3 days for the goods to arrive," Ms. Nhat Ha shared.
In addition, T-shirts printed with the red flag with yellow star are also in high demand, becoming the top choice for parents who want to instill patriotism in their children from a young age.
