In 2024, in general, the political security, order and social safety situation in the ethnic minority areas in Ho Chi Minh City is guaranteed and stable. Ethnic minorities strictly comply with the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws, and agree with and trust the Party's leadership, the State's management and the City government.

The City People's Committee organized a meeting with outstanding ethnic minorities in the fields of economy, culture, and society; organized a delegation to visit and present gifts to revolutionary veterans, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, intellectuals, retired leaders of the Chinese Affairs Committee and leaders of the City's Ethnic Affairs Committee; families of the Hoa Van Committee bases in the provinces of Ben Tre, Long An, Tay Ninh, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City; visited and wished a Happy New Year to religious establishments among ethnic minorities; and a delegation of city leaders visited and wished a Happy New Year to ethnic minorities in the city and other provinces.

The City Ethnic Committee organized visits and presented 1,476 gifts, worth 666.7 million VND (of which, the socialized funding source was 395 million VND). Districts, towns and Thu Duc City proactively organized visits and presented 31,887 gifts to ethnic minorities under policy, poor households, near-poor households, disadvantaged households, lonely elderly people, workers, disadvantaged students... with a total amount of 16.7 billion VND (of which, the socialized funding source was 12 billion VND).

The production, business and living conditions of ethnic minorities in the city are stable. Local authorities have paid attention to leading and directing departments, offices, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations at all levels to grasp the living conditions of ethnic minorities and organize the implementation of ethnic affairs and ethnic policies, pay attention to their material and spiritual lives, and ensure full implementation of regimes and policies.

Cultural work, activities to preserve and promote traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities continue to be maintained and promoted. Cultural activities, festivals, customs and practices of ethnic minorities are always led and directed by Party committees, authorities, departments, offices, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees and socio-political organizations at all levels to support and organize implementation, contributing to building an increasingly sustainable national great unity bloc; propagating and mobilizing ethnic minorities to abandon bad customs.

Education, vocational training and career guidance for ethnic minority youth are actively implemented by all levels, sectors and localities. Policies and regimes for ethnic minority teachers and students are implemented fully, promptly and in accordance with regulations.

The religious activities of ethnic minorities are maintained in the spirit of promoting traditions, demonstrating thrift, civilization, and solidarity; enthusiastically and actively participating in traditional cultural activities on the occasion of festivals and religious customs such as the Chinese Lantern Festival in District 5, the Ngo boat racing festival in District 3, the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day on April 19, the Khmer Chol Chnam Thmay festival, the Cham Ramuwan festival, and the month of Ramadan. Major holidays of ethnic minorities are facilitated to organize many activities, in a joyful atmosphere associated with social charity activities, in accordance with legal regulations, ensuring social order and safety, creating a joyful and affectionate atmosphere, demonstrating the care of the Party, the State and local authorities for ethnic minorities.

Policies, regimes and policies for ethnic minorities are always given attention; actively support and implement educational support policies for preschool children, students, graduate students and researchers who are ethnic minorities in Ho Chi Minh City according to regulations.

The conference heard many reports from localities and communities on experiences in implementing ethnic work associated with supporting the improvement of public health quality, education, supporting capital for poverty reduction, and effectively eliminating temporary housing in the area; work to preserve and promote cultural traditions, writing, and costumes of ethnic minorities...

In the 2025 plan, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee sets out 8 major goals, including: Effectively implementing the goals, tasks and key indicators of the socio-economic development plan associated with implementing the 2025 Theme: "Focusing on streamlining the apparatus to be streamlined - strong - efficient - effective - efficient; promoting digital transformation; fundamentally resolving the City's difficulties and backlogs" in accordance with the functions and tasks of the state management agency in the ethnic sector.

Continue to implement the Action Program of the Ethnic Affairs Strategy in Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2045; effectively implement policies to care for ethnic minorities, the Project "Preserving and promoting traditional costumes of Vietnamese ethnic minorities in the current period" in Ho Chi Minh City until 2025; implement policies, mobilize and promote the role of Prestigious People among ethnic minorities...

Speaking at the conclusion of the Conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai praised the coordination between the City Ethnic Committee and departments, branches, and localities for many high achievements.
