This morning, January 12, the Department of Science and Technology (KH&CN) coordinated with the Provincial Women's Union, Provincial Youth Union, Department of Education and Training and Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to organize the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the "Innovative Startup" contest in Quang Tri province in 2023.

Right from the first days of launching, the “Innovative Startup” contest in Quang Tri province has inspired and mobilized many organizations and individuals, especially young people to participate. After more than 2 months of launching and widely communicating about the contest, the organizing committee has received 40 applications, a significant increase compared to previous years.
According to the organizers, the competition has many ideas, solutions, and products with investment and in-depth research to apply technology into practice. The startup ideas/projects in the competition are well-invested, feasible, and have the potential to be widely replicated and applied in labor, production, business, and social life.

The Quang Tri Province “Innovative Startup” Competition 2023 is a program to search for and support innovative startup ideas/projects, providing opportunities to connect financial resources, partners, develop markets, and share knowledge to help businesses and individuals in production and business effectively promote resources and promote the province's economic development; affirming the role of innovation in responding to challenges and future orientation.
At the same time, connect the innovative startup community inside and outside the province, create a playground, a healthy and useful exchange environment, attract the attention and support of society and businesses for feasible ideas/projects, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

After the preliminary round, based on objective evaluation and quality voting, the organizing committee has selected 1 First Prize, 3 Second Prizes, 2 Third Prizes and 2 Encouragement Prizes for 8 projects/ideas that have been applied in practice. In which, the First Prize belongs to the project of Manufacturing a CNC Fiber Laser cutting machine control system using STM32 chip by the author group of DAVICS Company Limited.
Awarding 6 potential projects (1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 1 Third Prize and 2 Encouragement Prizes). The First Prize for Potential Project belongs to the Magic Hand project, a glove that converts VSL sign language into natural language to support deaf and mute people by the author group of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted.
At the closing and award ceremony, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Tran Ngoc Lan commended and congratulated the groups of ideas and startup projects that won the competition's awards. At the same time, he emphasized that through the competition, the department will select the best innovative startup ideas/projects, potential innovative startup projects to have a support plan, order science and technology tasks, contributing to the realization and replication of new projects and business models that bring practical solutions, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.
