Krong Pac district is known as the durian capital of Dak Lak province, with a current total area of about 10,000 hectares. In 2024, the expected durian output is about 92,000 tons. The durian area granted export growing area codes is 34 codes, with an area of 2,015 hectares. There are 13 facilities for packaging fresh fruit for export that have been granted codes and are operating in the district.
In 2022, the district's fresh durian product was granted certificate No. 413207 by the Department of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Science and Technology , certifying the registration of the trademark "KRONG PAC DURIAN KRONG PAC DURIAN" for the Farmers' Association of Krong Pac district. Durian is identified as the main crop, contributing to increasing people's income and developing the economy of Krong Pac district.
Currently, durian has entered the main harvest season, durian growers are busy harvesting, durian gardens are bustling with the voices of sellers, buyers, and harvesters. However, many durian purchasing warehouses are still closed.

Along Highway 26, through Ea Knuec and Ea Kenh communes, Krong Pac district, many durian purchasing facilities and warehouses are closed, with signs saying "warehouse for rent (sale)". At many operating purchasing warehouses, the atmosphere is also quiet and deserted, the situation of competing to buy and sell has disappeared.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Truong Sa (41 years old), residing in Tan Quang village, Ea Kenh commune, said that the reason was that during the 2023 durian harvest season, the durian trading situation in Krong Pac district was very busy, even many units did not have warehouses to rent. But this year's harvest, the durian purchasing situation was deserted, a series of purchasing warehouses are still closed.
Mr. Tran Cong Minh, Dai Phuc durian purchasing facility, Km23, Krong Pac district, said that due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, many durians were hard due to excess water, causing a high rate of "floating goods". Every day, Dai Phuc facility purchases from 10-50 tons of "floating goods" durian, with prices ranging from 35-41,000 VND/kg.

Speaking to reporters, Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Pac district, affirmed that the durian trading situation this year is stable, there is no competition to buy, compete to sell, break stakes, and no durian brokers like last year. In addition, traders carefully select products to ensure standards right from the purchasing stage. Quality products will be bought at high prices by traders, while unqualified products will be bought at low prices.
Last year's durian season, the situation of durian purchasing was complicated, many people did not understand the actual situation, massively built warehouses, but there were no tenants. There were even units that did not know much about durian, but still rented warehouses to buy goods, leading to losses.
"This year, that situation no longer exists, so many facilities have warehouse names but are not operating. To develop durian sustainably, businesses, durian farmers, (local) managers and scientists need to work together and connect with each other," said Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh.

In order for durian purchasing activities to take place effectively and safely, Krong Pac district has proactively directed businesses to comply with legal regulations, avoiding cases of fraudulent buying, fraudulent selling, and swapping of growing area codes that affect the quality of local products. At the same time, the district has established teams to inspect growing area codes in the area...
