In recent years, the sports movement in the province has made great strides. With the synchronous implementation of many solutions, the sports movement in Bac Ninh, especially high-performance sports, has made many improvements, contributing many talented and promising athletes to the national team and competing successfully in the international arena, thereby creating a unique mark for Bac Ninh sports.

Particularly in the first 6 months of 2024, the mass sports movement continued to develop with many activities and diverse forms of training. The campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" has increasingly spread strongly, attracting a large number of participants from all walks of life. High-performance sports continue to receive attention, investment and development, selecting key sports, building a training system, and allocating athletes in appropriate sports.

In the new period, to promote the effective implementation of Conclusion No. 70-KL/TW dated January 31, 2024 of the Politburo, the Provincial People's Committee will focus on developing mass sports, high-performance sports and professional sports.

Specifically, the province will rapidly and sustainably develop high-performance sports in association with socio-economic development; encourage the development of mass physical education and sports, creating opportunities for all people to participate in training, performing, and competing activities to improve health, prevent and treat diseases, and have fun and entertain. Strengthen the dissemination of knowledge and guide the mass sports movement; build public sports facilities in residential areas, install training equipment in recreation areas, parks, etc. Pay attention to and direct the development of ethnic sports, recreational sports, national defense sports, children, students, the elderly, and people with disabilities in sports activities.

Innovate and improve the quality of physical education and sports in schools; pay attention to investing in facilities, teachers, lecturers for all levels, training levels and scientific research on age-related psychology and school sports.

Strengthen physical training, improve the health of officers and soldiers in the armed forces. Strengthen sports training, apply professional skills to serve work, combat, and high-performance sports. Promote the role of the armed forces in developing physical training and sports.

Promote grassroots sports club activities, promote exchanges, performances, and sports competitions at the grassroots level. Every year, gradually increase the number of district-level sports competitions, provincial sports competitions, and competitions of developed sports with strong movements and a large number of participants in the province. Effectively implement Plan No. 11/KH-UBND dated January 17, 2020 of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province on organizing a month of physical activities and sports for everyone and the Olympic Running Day for the health of all people in the period 2020 - 2030; Plan No. 436/KH-UBND dated July 8, 2021 of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province on promulgating the Plan to implement the Campaign "All people practice physical exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" in Bac Ninh province in the period 2021-2030.

The province strives to have over 50% of the population regularly participating in physical training and sports by 2030. Focus on developing high-performance sports and professional sports, perfecting the selection and training system for athletes to compete in national and international tournaments, especially key Olympic sports; investing in building facilities and purchasing modern training and competition equipment. Improve the quality and efficiency of training, coaching and competition activities for athletes in the province, meeting the development requirements in the new period. Focus on cultural studies, raising awareness of organization and discipline, educating ethics, will, national pride and love for the homeland for coaches and athletes.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also proposed other tasks and solutions such as: Focusing on propagating, disseminating, thoroughly grasping, seriously and effectively implementing policies and guidelines on physical education and sports; Improving the quality and effectiveness of state management on the development of physical education and sports; Increasing resources for physical education and sports development.

The dissemination and implementation of Conclusion No. 70-KL/TW dated January 31, 2024 of the Politburo on the development of physical training and sports in the new period must be serious, practical, effective, and synchronous from the province to the grassroots level, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system, social organizations, business community, and people of all walks of life to participate in the implementation; regularly inspect, supervise, periodically review, summarize, and report on implementation results according to regulations./.
