Among the 10 localities with the highest IIP growth nationwide, Phu Tho ranked first with an impressive increase of 47.3% in the first two months of the year compared to the same period last year.

This result was mainly due to the breakthrough of the processing and manufacturing industry - a sector that plays an important role in the local economic structure. The production index of this industry in Phu Tho increased by 48.5%, far exceeding many other localities. Along with that, the electricity production and distribution industry in the area also recorded a significant increase, contributing to promoting overall growth.

The fact that Phu Tho leads the country in industrial production growth in the first two months of the year shows positive signs in attracting investment, developing processing and manufacturing industries, and ensuring energy supply, contributing to promoting local economic development.

Tra Vinh ranked second, up 40.5%

In the first two months of 2025, Tra Vinh recorded the second highest increase compared to other provinces and cities across the country due to the high growth in electricity production and distribution.

Tra Vinh's industrial index has started to increase for about 3 years now, as the demand for electricity has increased. At the same time, Tra Vinh is also a locality with a series of wind power projects connected to the national grid, helping the index of the electricity production and distribution industry increase sharply.

Bac Kan increased by 28.1%

In the first two months of the year, the industrial production index increased by 28.1%. Accordingly, Bac Kan's strength is thanks to the processing and manufacturing industry; the electricity production and distribution industry increased.

Notably, in 2024, the industrial production index of the whole industry compared to 2023 increased by 11.73%; the added value of the whole industry in 2024 (at 2010 comparable prices) reached 642 billion VND, an increase of 11.03%; the industrial production value (at 2010 comparable prices) reached 2,023.72 billion VND, an increase of 13.38% compared to 2023 and exceeded the 2024 plan by 6.51%.

Bac Giang increased by 26.3%

According to the statistics agency of Bac Giang province, the industrial production index in February 2025 is estimated to reach 100.85% compared to the previous month and increase by 54.57% over the same period, of which the processing and manufacturing industry is estimated to increase by 55.58%; the mining industry is estimated to increase by 21.75%; the supply of operating water and wastewater treatment is estimated to increase by 3.48%; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, and hot water is estimated to increase by 0.9% over the same period last year.

The electronics manufacturing industry is still the main factor contributing to the scale of production value as well as the high growth rate in the first two months of the year. The IIP index of the electronics, computer and optical products manufacturing industry increased by 64.43% over the same period.

Key products with high growth rates in the first two months of the year compared to the same period last year include: Laptops; headphones with microphones; integrated electronic circuits; audio and video receivers, converters or reproducing machines. Typical products with a decrease in the index in the two months include: Other batteries; anhydrous ammonia; electric batteries.

Hoa Binh increased by 21.4%

In February 2025, industrial production in Hoa Binh province continued to maintain growth momentum, making important contributions to the local socio-economic development.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province, the increase in industrial production index was due to the mining industry increasing by 50.82%, the processing and manufacturing industry increasing by 21.15%, and electricity production and distribution increasing by 66.61%.

Electricity output alone in the month is estimated at 552 million kWh, up 63.1% over the same period last year, contributing to stabilizing energy sources for production and daily life in the area.

One of the "marks" in the first two months of the year is the contribution of QMH Computer Limited Company (under Quanta Group) with computer products (a new product line that will go into production from the end of 2024), creating a "breakthrough" with estimated revenue of about 1,500 billion VND in January 2025; it is expected that in February 2025, output will increase by 11.76% compared to the previous month, affirming the strong development potential of the high-tech industry in Nam Dinh.

Ben Tre increased by 17.3%
