The Liaison Committee of Battalion 8, the predecessor of Binh Ha Battalion, recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Battalion 8 (April 14, 1965 - April 14, 2025). Attending the ceremony were Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thang, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command.

Officers and soldiers of the 8th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion (Binh Ha) and delegates perform the flag-saluting ceremony at the ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the unit's founding (April 14, 1965 - April 14, 2025).

The Ha Tinh local army anti-aircraft artillery company was established on February 28, 1965, named Binh Dinh, the twin province of Ha Tinh. In response to new mission requirements, on April 14, 1965, the Military Region 4 Command and the Ha Tinh Provincial Military Command decided to organize and establish the 8th 37mm anti-aircraft artillery battalion on the basis of the Binh Dinh Company. From 1965 to 1972, the 8th Battalion shot down and coordinated with the unit to shoot down 81 American aircraft, capturing many pilots. At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the heroic feats of the battalion, as well as the heroic fighting and sacrifice of 156 officers and soldiers of the Battalion.

Leaders of the Military Command of Ha Tinh province awarded certificates of merit to veterans of the 8th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion for their contributions to the resistance war and homeland construction.

In recognition of the unit’s achievements, on March 11, 1973, Battalion 8 was awarded the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces by the State. Over the years, generations of officers and soldiers of Battalion 8 have promoted the good qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, exemplary with their descendants in participating in economic development, taking the lead in movements, contributing to the construction of the homeland./.
