On the morning of April 18, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presided over and coordinated with the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and other agencies to hold a domestic and international press conference to inform about activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Speaking at the press conference, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh shared that in these days, every Vietnamese person is recalling the moment 50 years ago - the day of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country - a moment recorded in our nation's history as one of the most brilliant pages, a shining symbol of the complete victory of revolutionary heroism and human intelligence, entering world history as a great feat of the 20th century, an event of international importance and profound contemporary significance.
Over the past 50 years, our country has achieved great achievements. From a war-torn country, Vietnam has risen strongly with a developed economy and society, strong national defense and security, and an increasingly enhanced international position.
"In the exciting atmosphere of recent foreign affairs activities, such as the visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam or the 4th Partnership for Green Growth and Global Goals (P4G) Summit, we are even more proud of the country's development and also feel more grateful for the sacrifices of our compatriots and soldiers for the country's independence, freedom and unification, so that the country can have the brilliant development it has today," the Deputy Minister expressed.

The Deputy Minister hopes that the press will be an emotional and clear link from the past, present to the future. In which, the past is what the Vietnamese people have gone through, with so much pain and loss to gain independence, freedom, unity and development of the country; the present is the achievements in socio-economy, foreign affairs, national defense and security... that Vietnam is having, which is also gratitude for the difficult journeys that have passed; and the future, under the leadership of the Party, directly the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary To Lam, the country is striving to enter a new era, entering new historical stages of development.
Emphasizing that the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day is not only a national event but also an event of world stature, Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh affirmed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will provide full support and create all favorable conditions for domestic and foreign reporters to work on this particularly important event.
"The Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the people of Ho Chi Minh City will try to make the angles, articles and feelings of domestic and international reporters as authentic and emotional as possible," the Deputy Minister expressed.

At the press conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said that the event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day received attention and very positive responses from international delegates.
To date, more than 20 international delegations, including 3 high-level delegations, 4 delegations at ministerial level or higher, and more than 15 political parties from different continents... have confirmed their attendance at the event.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City has also received confirmation of participation from more than 20 sister localities and many foreign individuals who have contributed to the anti-war movement against the war of aggression in Vietnam.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang added that for the first time, the parade included a group of exemplary overseas Vietnamese with more than 120 overseas Vietnamese delegates from more than 25 countries and territories. The overseas Vietnamese group not only included overseas Vietnamese who contributed to the cause of fighting for national independence but also many young faces such as intellectuals, businessmen, and artists who were invited to attend.
In addition, according to Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, more than 140 foreign reporters registered to attend, including a number of former war correspondents and 7 overseas reporters from the United States and several European countries.
