More than 1,200 international delegates will attend the 2025 Vesak Festival in Ho Chi Minh City

The theme of Vesak 2025 is “Solidarity and Tolerance for Human Dignity: Buddhist Wisdom for World Peace and Sustainable Development”, with many unique cultural, spiritual and academic activities such as: The procession and enshrinement of Buddha's relics from India, worship of the heart relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc, international seminars, flower lantern festivals, Buddhist cultural exhibitions and multinational Buddhist art programs...

The event is expected to be an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam as a peaceful, friendly and united country, while affirming the Party and State’s policy of respecting freedom of belief and religion. In particular, this is an opportunity to introduce Ho Chi Minh City - a dynamic, creative and integrated city to international friends after 50 years of liberation.

The series of activities before and after the ceremony will take place from May 2 to 9, focusing on Binh Chanh district and many prominent spiritual sites in Ho Chi Minh City. The city has mobilized more than 6,000 Buddhists, 1,000 monks and nuns, 550 student volunteers and thousands of people to provide logistics, reception and security for the event.

Many spiritual and cultural tourist attractions such as Giac Ngo Pagoda, Hoang Phap Pagoda, Xa Loi Stupa, Cu Chi Tunnels, etc. will also be introduced in the grand ceremony programs to promote the cultural heritage and unique beliefs of Ho Chi Minh City to international friends.
