To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, on April 15, the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City branch in collaboration with the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum and the City Fine Arts Association opened two special topics "From the Dien Bien Phu victory to the great victory of Spring 1975" and "The image of President Ho Chi Minh through the language of sculpture."

With 150 photos, diagrams, excerpts, and documents, the special topic "From Dien Bien Phu Victory to the Great Victory of Spring 1975" is divided into three parts.

Part 1, titled "Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 1954", introduces the French army's plan to occupy and build the Dien Bien Phu stronghold; the policy and the skillful and wise direction of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh, and the strategic decisions of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command, especially General Vo Nguyen Giap.

Part 2 "Ho Chi Minh Campaign 1975" introduces the Dien Bien Phu Victory that ended nine years of resistance against French colonialism, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and strength of the entire nation.

The great victory of Spring 1975, culminating in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, inherited and strongly promoted the spirit of Dien Bien Phu.

"Economic development potential of Dien Bien province and Ho Chi Minh City" is the theme of part 3. In this part, the Organizing Committee introduces to the public the special national relic of Dien Bien Phu Battlefield and some outstanding historical-cultural relics of Dien Bien; promotes typical events, festivals, the beauty of the land and people of Dien Bien, highlighting the characteristics and strengths of culture and tourism.

The topic "The image of President Ho Chi Minh through the language of sculpture" introduces to the public 10 portraits of President Ho Chi Minh from 1911 to 1965 that the Museum has just received.

The works were created by sculptors: Nguyen Xuan Tien, Tran Thanh Nam, Pham Dinh Tien, Le Lang Bien, Tran Viet Ha, Nguyen Van Chuoc, Nguyen Van Len, Tran Mai Huu Quy for Uncle Ho.

The theme vividly and authentically recreates the heroic historical period of the nation. Through this, the public has the opportunity to look back at the golden pages of history; pay tribute to the great contributions of previous generations, contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism and revolutionary spirit for the younger generation.

Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City branch, Luu Thi Tuyet Trinh, said that the theme "From the Dien Bien Phu victory to the great victory in the spring of 1975" vividly and authentically recreated the heroic historical periods of the nation. Through that, today's generations look back at the glorious golden pages of history, pay tribute to the great contributions of previous generations, and at the same time contribute to educating the tradition of patriotism and revolutionary spirit for the younger generation.

The sculptures received from the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association are of great significance at a time when the whole country is entering a period of historical commemoration.

Through the language of sculpture, the image of President Ho Chi Minh is depicted realistically and vividly.

Although each author's creative style is different, the works all exude simplicity and nobility, deeply reflecting his moral example and style.

Ms. Luu Thi Tuyet Trinh hopes that in the coming time, all three units will continue to have the opportunity to coordinate to display many new topics and have activities contributing to spreading the ideological values, ethics and style of President Ho Chi Minh.

The exhibition "From Dien Bien Phu victory to the great victory of Spring 1975" is on display from April 15 to May 12 at the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City branch (No. 1 Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ward 12, District 4)./.
