Proud of tradition
Since the years of resistance against French colonialism, Thai Nguyen has been the center of revolutionary journalism activities. On April 4, 1949, Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School opened its first and only course with 42 students in Tan Thai commune (Dai Tu). On April 21, 1950, the Association of Vietnamese Journalists was established in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune (Dinh Hoa). This place - "The Windy Capital" - is also the address where many major newspapers were headquartered such as: Cuu Quoc, Su That - the predecessor of today's Nhan Dan Newspaper. In the forests of Viet Bac, the rustling sound of newspaper printing machines blends with the sounds of the mountains and forests as a testament to the nation's indomitable spirit, desire for freedom and truth.
Joining that flow, the Thai Nguyen press force was soon formed and gradually matured. On September 2, 1956, Thai Nguyen Radio Station - the predecessor of the Provincial Radio - Television Station, was established. Six years later, on August 25, 1962, Thai Nguyen Newspaper was born, marking an important development step in terms of organization and content of local press. On June 15, 1992, the People's Committee of Bac Thai province issued Decision No. 218 to establish the Bac Thai Provincial Journalists Association - the predecessor of the Thai Nguyen Journalists Association today. This was an important milestone, opening a period of vibrant and responsible activities of the professional association of journalists in the province.
Through 7 congresses, the Association has gathered more than 260 members who are active in 5 branches, sub-branches and 3 journalist clubs. Under this common roof, members are trained in political qualities, improving their professional qualifications and ethics. The Association also plays an active role in protecting the legitimate rights of journalists, while closely coordinating with press management and direction agencies to resolve arising issues, ensuring that press activities are in line with their principles and purposes.
Not only connecting internally, the Association is also the focal point connecting the press nationwide, organizing many major events and coordinating effectively with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association. Thereby contributing to building the prestige, affection and position of Thai Nguyen in the system of the National Journalists Association.

Transforming in the digital age
Faced with the wave of digital transformation that is fundamentally changing the way global journalism operates, Thai Nguyen journalism has been actively adapting so as not to be left behind. Entering the era of national growth, the province's press agencies have boldly streamlined their organizations, improved the quality of their staff, produced multi-format content, and met modern media trends. At the same time, they innovated content, applied modern technology, built a converged newsroom model, developed multimedia platforms, and increased interaction with readers. Official information is increasingly spread strongly, contributing to orienting public opinion, strengthening people's trust in the Party, government, and political system.
In unpredictable situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic, storm YAGI or complex issues in cyberspace, the Thai Nguyen journalism team has demonstrated solid professional qualities, acumen and a high sense of responsibility. Not only reporting timely and accurate news, they are also the ones who contribute to building social consensus, spreading the spirit of humanity and belief in victory.
Many excellent press works have been recognized with prestigious awards such as: National Press Award, Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, Dien Hong Award, Huynh Thuc Khang Press Award of Thai Nguyen Province, National Radio and Television Festival... This not only demonstrates the tireless efforts of journalists, but also serves as a driving force for the sustainable development of local press.
Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association, journalist Nguyen Bao Lam: In the coming time, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association will continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, and improve the quality of association activities. The Association will be a solid support for its members, contributing to building a revolutionary, humane, professional, modern journalism, effectively serving the development of the province.
A century has passed since Uncle Ho founded Thanh Nien newspaper - a milestone in the birth of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism. On that glorious journey, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association has been writing new pages of history, imbued with the identity of the Viet Bac region, rich in fighting spirit and imbued with the breath of life. Journalists today are still diligently and devotedly working, contributing to spreading humanistic values and trust to the public - just as President Ho Chi Minh taught: "Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons in the revolutionary cause."
