In order to meet the needs of entertainment, create a healthy, safe and useful playground during the summer for young people, teenagers and children in the whole province, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ba Ria - Vung Tau (BR-VT) has issued Plan No. 102/KH-SVHTT on organizing summer activities in 2024. After a period of implementation, the plan has achieved many remarkable results.
Regarding cultural and artistic activities: Open 10 hobby classes, including 07 art classes and 03 sports classes. Total number of participants is 188, specifically: Fine Arts class (20 students); Vocal music (7 students); MC kids (25 students); Vovinam martial arts (40 students); Modern dance (30 students); Instrument class (6 students); Children's Dancesport class (15 students); Children's Fashion Show (20 students); Acting class (10 students); Chess class (15 students). The 10th "Childhood Melody" festival program - 2024 with 16 participating teams, including 82 performances from districts, towns, clubs, groups, primary and secondary schools in the province. At the end of the festival, the Organizing Committee and the Jury agreed to award 16 certificates of merit to 16 art teams and 82 certificates of merit to 82 performances participating in the festival.
The program Summer of Love with 12 performances rotated to perform 3 summer camp sessions in Xuyen Moc district, Phu My town and Ba Ria city, attracting nearly 1,000 children to participate and cheer. The Cultural Exchange program on June 1 was held at the Provincial Cultural Center's Mass Theater Performance Hall with 17 performances from the Clubs of the Provincial Cultural Center, with the participation of primary schools and sponsors. The program supported and gave gifts to children in difficult circumstances, good students, 64 gifts.

The art program summarizing summer activities at the Provincial Cultural Center brought many memories, joy and usefulness for children preparing for the new school year, including 12 performances (including performances that the children were instructed by teachers this summer). Maintaining the organization of club activities, groups, and hobbies such as: Vovinam Martial Arts Club (60 children), Youth Dance Group (20 members), Hiphop Dance Club (20 children), Street Dance Club (30 children), Children's Dancesport Group (15 children), most of the clubs are active from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every day of the week.
Supported the Center for Culture, Information and Sports of Dat Do district to teach the MC class for children (56 children); the Organ class (10 children); supported the Center for Culture, Information and Sports of districts to act as the Jury for the "Childhood Melody Contest" of Xuyen Moc district; "Painting and Singing Contest of Son Ca" of Chau Duc district. The Mobile Film Screening Team screened 10 films for children to participate in the art talent classes at the Provincial Cultural Center.
Regarding sports activities: The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized 16 gifted classes for children from 6 to 16 years old: Chess, Chinese Chess, Table Tennis, Judo, Kurash, JuJitsu, Karate, Muay, Vovinam, Traditional Martial Arts, Taekwondo, Sports Dance, Swimming, Wushu, Badminton, Basketball. . Organizing provincial sports tournaments: Provincial sports tournaments with competition content for students, talented sports forces participating as follows: Badminton tournament of provincial clubs, Vovinam tournament of all ages, U9 Football tournament of clubs of Ba Ria province, from June 8 to June 15, 2024 in Chau Duc; Table Tennis tournament of all ages in Ba Ria province, from June 20 to June 23, 2024 in Ba Ria; Cross Country Championship of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, from June 28 to June 29, 2024 in Vung Tau; Taekwondo Championship of all ages of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, from June 29 to July 1, 2024 in Phu My; Swimming Championship of all ages of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, from July 19 to July 21, 2024 in Dat Do. Coordinate and provide professional support to the Provincial Radio and Television Station to successfully organize the Youth Football Tournament - BRT Television Cup of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province in 2024.
Regarding library activities: Opening of the "Happy Summer Reading" Program in 2024 with the theme "Summer Book Fragrance" From June 1 to August 16, every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the Library. The "Happy Summer Reading" program includes activities: Reading Diary, Book Storytelling, STEM Activities, Life Skills, Handymanship, Foreign Exchange, Intellectual Games, Knowledge Quizzes. Organizing the Children's Storytelling Festival in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province - Summer 2024, with the theme "Summer Fragrance". The grassroots library system has successfully organized the District-level Children's Storytelling Competition with 750 children participating, with 105 performances and is expected to attend the Provincial Children's Storytelling Festival on August 20, 2024 at the Provincial Cultural Center.
In addition, the Department coordinated with the Department of Education and Training and the Provincial Youth Union to organize the preliminary round of the Reading Culture Ambassador contest, held from April 19, 2024 to June 10, 2024, receiving: 7,462 entries/91 primary, secondary and high schools in the province. The Organizing Committee selected 06 excellent entries to participate in the national final round. Organized service for 6,689 readers/20,067 documents; issued 567 library cards; organized 34 thematic activities. Coordinated with the 171st Naval Brigade to organize the rotation of 800 copies of books to affiliated units such as: Port Management Board; Ship 11; Ship 15; Ship 18 to serve the reading needs of officers and soldiers. Coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to organize the rotation of nearly 2,000 copies of books to 16 affiliated units, to serve the reading needs of officers and soldiers.
Regarding Museum activities and traditional education: During the summer, students and young people participating in summer activities at the Museum and Bach Dinh relic site are completely free for organizations, schools, and the 2024 Summer Steering Committee in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province; for students, young people, and children from groups outside the province organizing tours, experiences, and history learning, the "Military Semester" program is exempted from 15% to 50% of the entrance tickets.
In the summer of 2024, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Museum organized receptions, provided guidance and explanations for summer activities of the Summer Steering Committees of wards and communes in the province, and activities for youth union members; welcomed and guided students, teenagers and children from outside the province to visit and participate in activities at the Bach Dinh Museum and relics (from June to August 2024), attracting more than 14,000 children to participate, traditional education activities and experiential visits increased by more than 7,000 children compared to the summer of 2023; Thereby, creating a safe and healthy environment for young people to practice skills, promote creativity, nurture talents and life skills, and arouse the spirit of volunteering for community life.
In addition, the Con Dao National Monuments Conservation Center has supported youth union members, team members and students at all levels in Con Dao district to visit and study at the Con Dao Museum and the Con Dao Prison National Monument. Visit the heroic martyrs and patriots resting at Hang Duong Cemetery and offer incense at Con Dao Temple. This is an annual educational activity between the Monuments Conservation Center and schools in Con Dao district. The Center also coordinated with Lam Dong Museum to organize the exhibition "Da Lat Children's Prison National Monument - Red Address in the City of Flowers" at the Cong Quan House relic. With nearly 200 images, from July 24 to July 31, 2024, it attracted 750 visitors.
It can be affirmed that Summer activities are annual activities of the BR-VT Department of Culture and Sports to meet the entertainment needs of young people and children in the province. The Department has closely followed the theme "Safe discovery - Enjoying passion" in 2024 in terms of content and methods of operation to organize summer activities from the province to the grassroots. Summer activities in 2024 focus on young people and children in remote communes and those in especially difficult circumstances through the organization of summer service activities such as: coordinating the organization of cultural and artistic programs, sports, serving mobile books and newspapers, etc.
Cultural, artistic and sports activities have received close attention and coordination between the Provincial Cultural Center, the Provincial Library, the Sports Training and Competition Center and the Cultural, Sports and Information Centers of districts, towns and cities in the province. After a period of implementation, with diverse and rich activities suitable for each age group, it has attracted and gathered young people and children in units and localities to participate; thereby contributing to creating a safe, healthy and useful playing environment during the summer, while creating conditions for children to demonstrate their talents and abilities, promoting their proactive and confident role for comprehensive development.
