In 2024, the VN-Index increased by 12%, but many individual investors said they were still losing money and their accounts "had not yet reached shore". However, a series of securities companies still recorded a prosperous year. For example, UP Securities Company (formerly Royal International Securities) announced its financial report for the fourth quarter of 2024. This is the first business period since the company changed its name and achieved revenue of VND 11.8 billion, double that of the same period, also the highest quarterly revenue since 2022. Accumulated in 2024, UP Securities' operating revenue reached VND 27.8 billion, an increase of 40% compared to 2023. Profit after tax reached VND 9 billion, 14 times the profit of VND 628 million earned in 2023. This is also the highest profit since this securities company announced its financial statements in 2007.

FPT Securities Company (FPTS) reported that in the fourth quarter of 2024, it achieved revenue of nearly 320 billion VND, an increase of 75%, and pre-tax profit of nearly 180 billion VND, nearly 3 times higher than the same period in 2023. In the whole year of 2024, the company's pre-tax profit reached 663 billion VND, an increase of 22%.

Similarly, VPS Securities Company recorded revenue of more than VND 1,540 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024, a slight decrease of nearly 3% compared to the same period in 2023. Thanks to large profits from investments, financial assets and a sharp reduction in operating costs, VPS reported a net profit of more than VND 830 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024, an increase of 329% compared to the same period in 2023. For the whole year of 2024, VPS's consolidated pre-tax profit reached more than VND 3,150 billion, doubling the set plan and being the company's record profit ever. VPS's after-tax profit reached more than VND 2,520 billion, 3.7 times higher than in 2023.

MB Securities Company (stock code MBS) achieved revenue in the fourth quarter of 2024 of nearly 760 billion VND, an increase of 40% over the same period in 2023. However, the company only achieved a net profit of 165 billion VND, down 4% over the same period last year. Accumulated for the whole year, MBS's revenue reached 3,120 billion VND, an increase of 72% over 2023 and pre-tax profit reached 931 billion VND, an increase of 30%.

Notably, LPBank Securities Company achieved revenue of VND94 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024, 14 times higher than in the fourth quarter of 2023, and pre-tax profit increased by 1,773% over the same period to nearly VND51 billion.
