According to the education organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), out of a total of 13 universities in Asia, 8 universities in China are rated well for the quality of training in Computer Science, 2 universities in Singapore, 2 universities in Korea and 1 university in Japan.

The top spot belongs to the National University of Singapore. This is also the leading higher education institution in Singapore with 17 faculties and affiliated universities, attracting thousands of students from many countries to study every year. The National University of Singapore is also ranked 4th in the world for training in Computer Science.

The second place in Asia also belongs to another educational institution in Singapore: Nanyang Technological University. Every year, this place has about 35,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students studying in the faculties of business, computer science and data, social sciences and humanities, arts, medicine... Engineering and information technology are considered the school's strong fields of training. Nanyang Technological University is also ranked 6th in the world's best computer science teaching institutions.

Appearing in the top 50 universities, the best universities in the world for computer science training are also many universities in China such as: Tsinghua University ranked 11th, Peking University ranked 14th, Shanghai Jiao Tong University ranked 20th.

Outside the top 20, The University of Hong Kong ranked 21st, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology ranked 24th, The Chinese University of Hong Kong ranked 27th, Zhejiang University ranked 31st and Fudan University ranked 39th.

South Korea has two representatives: Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) and Seoul National University. According to Quacquarelli Symonds Education Organization, compared to 2024, the ranking of computer science training quality at these two institutions has made remarkable progress.

This year, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology ranked 29th in the world, up 21 places from last year (ranked 50). Meanwhile, Seoul National University made a leap to rank 44, up 28 places from last year (ranked 72).

The University of Tokyo is the only Japanese institution to feature in the Quacquarelli Symonds rankings. The University of Tokyo is ranked 10th in Asia and 30th in the world for computer science.

Quacquarelli Symonds is known to be one of the three largest educational ranking organizations in the world today. The rankings by field are determined based on data evaluation from 1,700 schools in more than 100 countries and territories.

Of the five criteria considered by QS, academic reputation accounts for about 40-50% of the total score. In addition, the ranking is also based on criteria such as: the reputation of the school with employers, the average number of citations per article, the H-index measuring scientific research productivity and the impact of publications, and the IRN index measuring the effectiveness of international cooperation.
