Prepare carefully

As one of the tourist attractions of the province, the demand for electricity in Vung Tau City is forecast to increase during the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification Day on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1 this year. The unit has proactively developed a specific power supply plan for this occasion.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vinh, Deputy Director of Vung Tau Electricity, said that the unit has organized inspections and maintenance of the 110/22kV transformer station system in the area. Before the holiday, the electricity sector also cleaned and maintained the Bai Sau medium-voltage grid, a location where the electricity load is forecast to increase due to the large number of tourists. “We also developed scenarios for normal power supply and incidents. The operation management team with more than 60 people works 24/7 to handle any electrical incidents that may occur as quickly as possible, especially in places where political events, entertainment, etc. are held,” said Mr. Vinh.

In Con Dao district, this year's holiday has many events, especially the 50th anniversary of Con Dao Liberation Day and an art program with the participation of leaders and former leaders of the Party and State. This requires the electricity supply to always be stable and safe. Mr. Nguyen Chi Thuy, Director of Con Dao Electricity, said: "We will operate 6 to 7 generators at the same time, depending on the load. The generators will rotate during the day to ensure time to rest and check and maintain. When the capacity increases, depending on the load and the machines that are on standby, the shift will operate the generators accordingly. For the anniversary, additional 500KVA and 160kVA mobile generators will be used to run in parallel with the grid power source."

Stable power supply 24/24 hours

According to Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Provincial Electricity Company, the unit has fully implemented plans to ensure electricity supply during the holiday. The company will continuously reduce electricity supply to repair and maintain the power grid from April 30, 2025 to May 4, 2025.

On-call repair work, adequate preparation of materials, equipment, and communication systems have also been enhanced, ready to handle incidents 24/7. The electricity sector has also developed a plan to coordinate with forces to ensure security, order, safety, and fire and explosion prevention for electrical works, agency headquarters, warehouses, etc.

When there is a problem related to electricity, people can call 19001006 - 19009000 to receive support and handling from the customer care team of the electricity industry.

“In particular, we focus on providing the best power for venues holding ceremonies, festivals, political activities, cultural and artistic events on holidays such as: Ba Ria - Vung Tau Tourism Music Festival “V-Fest Allstar”; hot air balloon and music performance “V-Fest Evolution” in Xuyen Moc district, Art Kite Festival at Bai Sau…”, Mr. Hai added.
