Winning 3 more 2 gold medals on August 2, the Chinese sports delegation continued to hold the top position in the medal tally of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Chinese sports delegation continued to rank No. 1 in the overall medal table of the 2024 Paris Olympics at the end of the 7th official competition day.
On the competition day of August 2, the Chinese sports delegation won 2 more gold medals from Diving and Badminton.
The duo Long Daoyi and Wang Zongyuan were the first to win a gold medal for China on the day when they won the men's doubles 3m springboard diving event.
Meanwhile, the pair Zheng Si Wei and Huang Ya Qiong won the gold medal in mixed doubles badminton. This result is not surprising as they are currently ranked No. 1 in the world.
Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong had a convincing 21-8, 21-11 victory over South Korean pair Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun.
China also secured the women's doubles gold medal as the final will be a match between two teams from this country.
Chinese duo Tan Ning-Liu Shengshu defeated Japanese pair Matsuyama-Shida 2-0 (21-16, 21-19) in the women's doubles semi-finals to reach the final, where they will meet the duo Qingchen-Jia Yifan.
Thus, the Chinese Sports Delegation has officially won 13 Gold medals, 9 Silver medals and 9 Bronze medals, continuing to top the 2024 Olympic medal tally.
Host country France also had a successful day of competition when they won 3 more gold medals from athletes Teddy Riner (Judo), Leon Marchand (Swimming) and Joris Daudet (Cycling).

Notably, Leon Marchand made history by winning the 200m individual medley. He finished first with a time of 1:54.06 to win and break the Olympic record.
This achievement helps Leon Marchand become the 4th swimmer in history to win gold medals in 4 individual events at an Olympic Games, after Michael Phelps, Mark Spitz and Kristin Otto.
With 3 more Gold medals, the French Sports Delegation rose to 2nd place on the overall rankings with a total of 11 Gold medals, 12 Silver medals and 13 Bronze medals after 7 days of official competition.
The Australian sports delegation also performed impressively and won 3 more gold medals on August 2, after victories by Cameron McEvoy, Kaylee McKeown (Swimming) and Saya Sakakibara (Cycling).
In the men's 50m freestyle final, Australian swimmer Cameron McEvoy won the gold medal with a time of 21.25 seconds, ahead of two competitors Benjamin Proud (Great Britain) and Florent Manaudou (France).
Meanwhile, Kaylee McKeown had a very fast sprint in the last 50m to surpass Regan Smith (USA) and Kylie Masse (Canada), thereby winning the Gold medal in the 200m backstroke.
Closing the competition day on August 2, the Australian Sports Delegation won a total of 11 Gold medals, 6 Silver medals and 5 Bronze medals.
The impressive acceleration of France and Australia pushed the US Sports Team to fourth place in the 2024 Olympic medal table.
The US team had a disappointing day with only 3 more Silver medals. They still have only 9 Gold medals, 18 Silver medals and 16 Bronze medals.

Great Britain also performed impressively yesterday, winning three more gold medals from Emily Craig-Imogen Grant (rowing), Bryony Page (gymnastics) and the Equestrian team (Scott Brash, Ben Maher and Harry Charles).
The UK sports team has 9 gold medals as the US team, and is only behind due to the number of silver and bronze medals.
The Japanese sports delegation ranked 6th in the overall rankings with 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 6 bronze medals. Right behind, the Korean sports delegation ranked 7 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.
The next three positions in the top 10 of the 2024 Paris Olympic medal table belong to Italy (5 Gold medals, 8 Silver medals and 4 Bronze medals), the Netherlands (4, 3, 2) and Canada (3, 2, 6).
