Naval Region 5 visits, encourages and wishes a Happy New Year to officers, soldiers and people in the Southwest sea area

On the evening of January 4, the delegation boarded Ships 526 and 527 of Naval Region 5 to visit and extend New Year greetings to the soldiers and people of the islands in the southwestern sea of ​​the Fatherland, including Hon Doc, Tho Chu, Hon Khoai, Hon Chuoi and Nam Du islands.

The delegation visited, encouraged and wished a happy new year to officers, soldiers, people and forces in the Southwest sea area including: Can Tho city, Binh Duong, Ca Mau, Dong Thap, Soc Trang, Vinh Long provinces; delegations of Vietnam Sea Magazine , Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), Vietnam Sea and Islands Association, Hai Duong Province's "Warm Clothes for Children" Club and 39 reporters from central and local news agencies and newspapers.

Previously, on the afternoon of January 4, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, the Naval Region 5 Command organized a meeting with a delegation to visit, encourage, and wish a Happy New Year to officers, soldiers, people, and forces in the southwestern sea of ​​the Fatherland on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Luc Duc Tien, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 5 Command emphasized: “Over the years, Naval Region 5 Command has always received attention, sharing, help and companionship from Party committees, authorities and people across the country.

In particular, in the first days of 2025, the Naval Region 5 Command, forces and people on the Southwest island line welcomed delegations of provinces, cities, organizations, businesses and reporters from news agencies and newspapers to visit, encourage and wish a Happy New Year on the occasion of the Spring of At Ty 2025. This is a special concern, a deep affection of the mainland towards the sea and islands of the Southwest of the Fatherland during the coming of Tet and Spring".

Colonel Luc Duc Tien hopes that through the trip, the delegates will have a deeper understanding of the working and living conditions, the Tet atmosphere of officers, soldiers, people and forces in the Southwest sea. Thereby, sharing the contributions and silent sacrifices of the marine soldiers; at the same time, actively propagating about the sea, islands, the results of the struggle, protecting sovereignty combined with socio-economic development, strengthening national defense and security of the forces and people in the Southwest sea, making the movement "For the homeland's sea and islands - For the frontline of the Fatherland" continue to spread widely. From there, creating more material resources, spiritual strength, contributing to improving the lives of officers, soldiers and people; further tightening the solidarity between the army and the people, building an increasingly solid people's heart position at sea.

At the meeting, localities, organizations and businesses presented meaningful and practical gifts to officers and soldiers of Naval Region 5 Command and some units of the Navy stationed and performing tasks on Phu Quoc Island.

That same evening, the delegates boarded Ships 526 and 527 to visit and wish a Happy New Year to the soldiers and people of the islands: Hon Doc, Tho Chu, Hon Khoai, Hon Chuoi and Nam Du. The delegation's journey is expected to end on January 9.

On this occasion, the delegation of An Giang and Long An provinces also visited and wished a Happy New Year to officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 5 Command and units under the Region stationed in Phu Quoc City.

The Southwest Sea area managed by the Naval Region 5 Command has an area of ​​about 105,000 km2 . The coastline is about 450 km long, from the mouth of the Ganh Hao River in Bac Lieu Province to Ha Tien in Kien Giang Province. There are more than 150 islands on the sea surface, of which 46 are inhabited. This is a sea area of ​​special importance in terms of economy, politics, national defense and security for our country.
