This characteristic requires international integration and border diplomacy to be carried out closely and effectively, contributing to building a peaceful border, promoting socio-economic development, and strengthening national defense and security.

Maintain friendly relations between forces

According to the Provincial Border Guard Command, the unit regularly maintains good relations with the authorities and Cambodian border guards in coordinating border management and protection, preventing and combating all types of crimes and illegal entry and exit. In 2024, border guards exchanged information with the opposing forces 278 times. Along with that, 5 pairs of residential clusters signed a memorandum of understanding between Vietnamese hamlets and villages and Cambodian hamlets, villages and socs were maintained in operation; 11 border guards signed memorandums of understanding with the opposing Border Guard force.

At the end of 2024, the Provincial Border Guard Command coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to organize cultural - artistic, physical training - sports activities, exchanges with the Military Sub-region forces, Takeo and Kandal Provincial Police on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024). This meaningful activity is a demonstration of the concretization of defense foreign affairs activities between An Giang province and the two provinces of Takeo and Kandal. Thereby, it demonstrates the great interest and trust of the leaders of the two armies and forces in the young generation, creating conditions for exchanges and experiences; reviewing the glorious, heroic, loyal and devoted traditions of the relationship between the two countries.

The relationship, solidarity and cohesion between the armed forces are also clearly demonstrated in the regular exchange of diplomatic visits and greetings on the occasion of each other's traditional New Year. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, many delegations of Cambodian border protection forces came to wish a happy new year and present gifts to the Border Guard Command and border posts. Recently, on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Provincial Border Guard Command and the commanders of the border posts organized visits, wished a happy new year, presented gifts and cash to the border protection forces on the opposite side, including: the Royal Cambodian Army Guard Command; the Development Department of the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia; the Gendarmerie, Police, Military Sub-regions of Kandal and Takeo provinces; Border Protection Police Battalion 605, Border Guard Regiment 601, Chrey Thum Border Gate Police Station (Kandal province); Border Protection Police Battalion 603, Border Guard Battalion 333, Phnom Den International Border Gate Police Station (Takeo province).

At the units, Colonel Tran Quoc Khanh (Commander of the Border Guard of An Giang province) sent New Year greetings to all officers, soldiers of the armed forces and the Cambodian people. Colonel Tran Quoc Khanh emphasized: “In the coming time, the armed forces of the three provinces will maintain regular talks, regularly exchange information and situations with each other, promptly resolve incidents occurring on the border in the spirit of respecting each other's independence and territorial integrity, not allowing hot spots to occur on the border; propagate to the people about the long-standing fine traditions between the two nations, the people of the two countries and the armed forces of the three provinces. Continue to closely coordinate in managing and protecting the border, fighting and preventing all kinds of crimes, especially drug crimes, human trafficking, illegal entry and exit... Maintain security, social order and safety in the border area, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border. We firmly believe that the cooperative relationship and coordination between the parties will continue to be close, effective and develop to a new height; sustainably consolidate with the motto "Good neighbors, friendship, tradition, comprehensive cooperation". surface, long-term sustainability".

Lieutenant General Chhoeurn Sochet (Director of Kandal Provincial Police) said: “The close coordination between the parties has created favorable conditions for trade, economic, cultural and social development, ensuring peace for the people; maintaining security, social order and safety in the border areas on both sides. In the coming time, the units will continue to coordinate to serve the delegations of high-ranking leaders visiting and working; maintain stability on both sides of the border, not allowing the formation of hot spots; regularly maintain foreign affairs meetings to exchange information and the situation on the border line under their responsibility.”

Vietnam and Cambodia are two neighboring countries sharing a common border, with a long-standing traditional relationship of solidarity, friendship and cooperation, forged through years of joint efforts to fight for independence and freedom. The solidarity and mutual assistance between the two Parties and armed forces of the two countries in general, and the three border provinces of An Giang - Kandal - Takeo in particular, are the greatest source of strength, a valuable asset that needs to be continued to be preserved, cultivated and passed on to future generations. As President Ho Chi Minh wrote in a telegram to Head of State Norodom Sihanouk on November 8, 1968: "Today as well as tomorrow, our two countries will forever remain close friends...".
