DTO - Practically celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on April 29, Dong Thap University solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the DThU Aspiration building, announcing the outstanding events of the University in the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Minh Hoan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, former Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee; Professor, Doctor Pham Vu Luan - former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Le Tan Dung - Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Vo Hong Nhan - former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Head of the Central Ideology and Culture Commission, former Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee; along with many delegates of the Ministry of Education and Training, leaders, former leaders of the province, departments, branches, etc.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Van Thong - Principal of the University said that the DThU Aspiration Building is one of 44 key national projects selected by the Government to be inaugurated on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; a meaningful project, not only in terms of facilities but also a symbol of the aspiration for innovation, sustainable development and deep integration of Dong Thap University. The building started construction on April 7, 2024 and has been completed, with a scale of 9 floors, built on an area of ​​900m² and a floor area of ​​about 7,890 m², symbolizing the land of 9 dragons, 9 rivers - the symbol of the Mekong Delta.

Speaking to congratulate Dong Thap University, Mr. Le Tan Dung - Deputy Minister of Education and Training, shared that the inauguration ceremony of the DThU Aspiration Building (total investment of over 90 billion VND) is a particularly important event in the 50-year journey of traditional training of teachers and educational managers at all levels and more than 22 years of building, integrating and developing multidisciplinary universities, is to respect and continue traditional values ​​to cultivate and create good values ​​in the present and the future. With the goal of building and developing Dong Thap University to become a high-quality training and scientific research center in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, investing in building facilities for the University in general and the "DThU Aspiration House" project in particular is an urgent requirement.

According to the approved plan, in the coming time, Dong Thap University will continue to receive investment from the State to enhance its teacher training capacity to train pedagogical majors with an expected scale of 7,200 to 8,000 targets each year for teacher training majors, in addition to non-pedagogical training majors.

Mr. Le Minh Hoan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, former Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee shared that the Aspiration building with its modern appearance is not only an architectural building, a place to place offices, lecture halls... but this will be the "heart" that determines the beat on the journey of stronger innovation in educational thinking. And, this is also the place to awaken and lead the transformation from "transmission to discovery", from "teaching to inspiration", from "learning for scores to learning for a valuable life". This building will spread the aspiration as its name suggests. The aspiration to connect human knowledge. The aspiration to promote international cooperation. The aspiration to nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship. In the future, there will be many young people coming out of here, not only as job seekers, but also as people who create their own job opportunities, people who create the future...

On February 27, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 452/QD-TTg approving the planning of the network of university and pedagogical education institutions for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, Dong Thap University is one of 14 key university education institutions training teachers nationwide. This is an important event, both an honor and a great responsibility of the University for the country's education cause.

Another important event is that on April 23, 2025, Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee signed a decision to grant a Certificate of Land Use Rights to Dong Thap University with a total area of ​​75,647 m² (land for construction of educational and training facilities).

Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province (right) presented the Land Use Rights Certificate to Dong Thap University.

On this occasion, the Coordination Office of the Reading with Cyclo Project awarded 100 scholarships worth 70 million VND to students of Dong Thap University participating in the "Affiliate Training Camp", with the theme "Dong Thap Green Gene - Digital skills for marketing local agricultural products".
