Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - said that the city was very happy and proud to meet and honor 50 typical enterprises - units of Ho Chi Minh City - the typical "faces" of brands associated with the formation and development process of the city.
Enterprises and entrepreneurs make great contributions to the economic development of Ho Chi Minh City.
Looking back on the 50-year process, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that 50 years is a journey with many indescribable emotions, but in general, it is the memories of the journey marking the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of the city, from the will to overcome difficulties in the economic development after liberation, to the pioneering period in innovation and opening up, from the transformation process in industrialization and modernization to in-depth economic development.
Up to now, with the tradition of solidarity, dynamism, constant innovation and creativity of the Party Committee, the government and the people have contributed to building and developing the city into a locomotive, in the role of a major center of economy, finance, trade, culture... of the key economic region of the South and the whole country, an important gateway connecting with the region and the world.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that in 1990, the Law on Private Enterprises was passed by the National Assembly, creating favorable conditions for businesses to import machinery, expand production and business, and expand production smoothly.
Ho Chi Minh City's economy has grown rapidly since then. Up to now, the city's business and entrepreneur force has contributed more than 50% of GRDP, 67% of total social investment capital, and 25% of total import-export turnover.

“Many business names have developed successfully over the past four decades, becoming familiar and prestigious brands to consumers. With tireless efforts, many city businesses have been gradually affirming their position in the international arena, bringing “made by Vietnam” products to global consumers,” Mr. Duoc affirmed.
Inspirational fulcrum for the business community
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that the 50 typical units and enterprises with key brands and products of Ho Chi Minh City that were honored are closely associated with the formation and development process of the city over the past 50 years, with a revenue of more than 461,000 billion VND, contributing more than 10,500 billion VND to the city budget. In particular, these enterprises and units always accompany and contribute to the city's social security activities.
"You are a source of inspiration, spreading strongly to the city's business community," Mr. Duoc emphasized.

Mr. Duoc expects businesses to continue to accompany the city to "take innovative actions", pioneer in implementing "green transformation", "digital transformation", and propose ideas and contribute to make Ho Chi Minh City develop strongly in the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.
"I pledge to properly implement the Prime Minister's directive to take the private economy as the most important driving force to promote economic growth; consider people and businesses as the center, the subjects to be served, businesses as the resources, the driving force for development. The government is the real midwife, supporting, helping, leading, creating an equal playing field, not "administrative", Mr. Duoc affirmed.

According to the organizers, the series of events "Honoring 50 typical enterprises - units of Ho Chi Minh City" has an important meaning in recognizing and expressing gratitude for the great contributions of the business community to the city's development.
The award is not only a worthy recognition for businesses that have continuously innovated, created value and contributed to the prosperity of the city, but also a driving force to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation, and spread the brand value and key products of Ho Chi Minh City to the community at home and abroad.
The organizers said that the selection of 50 typical enterprises with key brands and products of the city is based on the following criteria: Business results and communication, Innovation, environmental - social - governance (ESG) factors determined by the Voting Council and loved by consumers.
