With their talent, virtue, and responsibility, military writers were the core who laid the foundation for the formation of Vietnamese revolutionary literature. They were also the ones who decided the main stream of Vietnamese literature, which was literature on the themes of revolutionary war and soldiers.

Many military writers have received the State Prize and the Ho Chi Minh Prize for literature and art. Dozens of military writers have had the honor of having streets and roads named after them.

The first military writer to have a street named after him was Nguyen Thi. He left the Army Literature and Arts to go to war and died in 1968, at the gates of Saigon. There were many unfinished manuscripts in his backpack.

The writer who recently had a street named after him is Colonel and writer Nguyen Minh Chau.

He was also sent to the front by the General Political Department, and there he wrote his most excellent works about war and soldiers.

The country was unified and peaceful, and he was also one of the first writers to "fire the shot" signaling the renewal of modern Vietnamese literature.

"Since its establishment, the Vietnam People's Army has contributed to the country's literature a team of the country's most talented generations of writers," said Mr. Phuong.

However, Mr. Phuong believes that literature on the armed forces and revolutionary war is also facing obstacles and challenges, and there needs to be mechanisms and policies to remove them, helping this literary genre gain the upper hand according to its inherent tradition, to continue spreading the beautiful image of Uncle Ho's soldiers to society.

Many other opinions also offer solutions for military literature and art to develop further in the coming period.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To - Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics - affirmed: The key activities on culture, literature, art, and military journalism in the past period have refined, preserved, and transmitted the most basic and typical features of the qualities, images, and figures of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the struggles for national independence, defending the Fatherland, in performing noble international duties as well as in peacetime building and developing the country.

Many military art programs celebrate 50 years of national reunification

Earlier, in his opening speech at the conference, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To said that there will be many art programs and works by the army to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
