This morning (April 3), the Ministry of Education and Training held a training conference on regulations and procedures for organizing the 2025 high school graduation exam for provinces and cities at Van Lang University (HCMC) with many important notes.

Regulations for candidates leaving the exam area for elective subjects

Sharing at the conference, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong informed: "This is the first year to organize the exam according to the new program with changes in the exam method and number of subjects. The exam also takes place during the period when the whole country is merging and streamlining the district level, so there will be impacts and influences on the organization of the high school graduation exam. Although the number of subjects, time and pressure will certainly be reduced, it is still necessary to provide thorough training on the organization of exam sites, exam organization, and grading...".

Because the exam organization, invigilation, and grading are the responsibility of the exam councils of the provinces and cities, Professor Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management of the Ministry of Education and Training, noted: "This year, the exam organization for two different groups of candidates, one is according to the 2006 Education Program and the other is according to the 2018 General Education Program with different exam questions, subjects, and exam room arrangements, so careful preparation is needed to ensure that there are no problems or difficulties during the exam."

Mr. Chuong said that the exam rooms will be arranged according to the optional exam. In each session of the optional exam, 1 room can take many different subjects at the same time. "A candidate can only sit in one exam room in 3 exam sessions. If an exam room has 2 different exam sessions, the candidate taking the exam in the later session will have to sit in the waiting room while the candidate taking the first session takes the exam and vice versa. That means that when both sessions are finished, the candidate can leave the exam site. The time between 2 sessions of the optional exam is 15 minutes, of which 10 minutes is for collecting the exam papers and 5 minutes for distributing the exam papers," Mr. Chuong shared.

Hope to provide the exam soon

Speaking at the conference, a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that this year the number of candidates in Hanoi is 126,000, an increase of 17,000, while having to organize for candidates of 2 programs, so the problem of printing and copying exam papers will take a lot of time and may encounter difficulties with machinery and technology.

"We hope the Ministry of Education and Training will provide the exam questions 1-2 days earlier so that the department has more time to prepare for printing and copying the exam questions, avoiding situations that cannot be handled in time," a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training proposed.

Meanwhile, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that the number of candidates taking the 2006 graduation exam in Ho Chi Minh City is quite large, up to 10,000 candidates, so they also recommended that the Ministry of Education and Training soon have the exam questions and prioritize transferring the exam questions of the 2018 General Education Program early to avoid confusion with the exam questions of the 2006 Education Program.

Leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province said that organizing exams for candidates of the two programs should be more careful, and there should be instructions on the process of printing and copying exam papers to ensure timeliness and safety.
